I’m pretty sure they only have 4 college teams doing the Air Jordan brand for football. Florida, Michigan, UNC, and Oklahoma.

There are five Jordan brand schools for football, one in each P5 conference.

SEC - UF
ACC - UNC
Big 10 - Michigan
Big 12 - Oklahoma
PAC 12 - Oregon

I'd rather have kids who are more focused on playing football than sporting a logo that is specifically geared to basketball.

Jordan brand is not specifically geared for basketball, hasn’t been for a while now.

You can find it baseball, boxing and even NASCAR.

Should be. No offense, I’m not picking on the Gators because I’m a Vol, I just don’t think a basketball/baseball player should be on a football uniform . You and I have already had this discussion though, so I already know where you stand and you know where I am on it.

Yep, and F Roy Williams while we’re at it.

A logo that depicts a famous basketball player performing a feat of basketball brilliance while holding a basketball isn't specifically geared to basketball?

No, it’s not...unless you really want it to be. Then by all means...

Off the top of my head, Derek Jeter, Roy Jones, GGG and Denny Hamlin are a few athletes who have worn Jordan brand gear in their respective sports. None are basketball players.

They all wore it because they were paid to do so. Which is fine. Nike wants the Jordan brand to be universal.

But if you showed that logo to 100 people and ask what sport comes to mind, all 100 will say "basketball."

Well Nike was a track thing. Need to go back to Southern Bell I guess

UF football is getting paid just like Hamlin, GGG and the examples I gave. It doesn’t change the discussion here.

You have a right to your opinion, but you stated the brand is “specifically geared” to basketball, and clearly it’s not.

So, the FedEx logo means both "logistics" and "stock car racing."

It means whatever you want it to mean.

You made an inaccurate statement about what Jordan brand is “specifically geared” towards, and you’ve been proven wrong.

No one disputes the origin of the logo, but the brand has crossed over into multiple sports.

The logo was designed for basketball and only for basketball. That Nike is now paying teams and athletes to wear it rather than the swoosh doesn't mean that the image is something other than a guy playing basketball. I have no issue with those folks getting paid. I simply think Nike is ham-handed in trying to make the jump man logo universal when the swoosh already is.

You could replace the Stanley Cup with the Lombardi Trophy, and it's still going to be a silver football.
