Nebraska to Big Ten

The only reason to move is for moving's sake. Losing Nebraska and Colorado shouldn't have the first effect on what Texas and OU, the only Big 12 schools who matter in this debate, decide to do.

assuming they can get someone on board quickly enough to maintain a title game and it doesn't dilute perceived quality. There is no way that Utah and TCU continue to look decent when added to a conference that will challenge them (to be kind) every week of the year and monkey stomp them a couple of times. I'm a Barnett fan, but he doesn't have the horses to play that kind of ball regularly.

Missouri is fixing to get left standing in the corner with powerhouses like Baylor and Iowa State to keep them company. "Go play intramurals brotha."
I love how you're acting as if your program is anything in this debate but a parasite attached to Austin. If left to your own devices, you'd end up in the Southland Conference.

I don't know that Nebraska can successfully recruit Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and other traditional Big10 states.

And I don't see kids from Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma being too interested in playing in the Big10 either.

Lincoln, Nebraska is probably a tough place to recruit to (and some y'all think Knoxville is tough), but it shouldn't be that tough to recruit against a lot of the rust belt areas. Lincoln won't look as bad against most Big 10 cities as it does when compared to Austin, TX.

Youre giving the Baylor politicians way too much credit Hat. The grown ups will decide in the morning.

TCU would have zero problem competing on an annual basis in the Big 12 with Gary Patterson in charge. He'd use Ok State, Tech, Baylor, and A&M as pinatas.

Parasite or not, its a package deal. Am I to be humble because we've been linked together? Why should I be? Who owes the Baptist folks down in Waco anything? Lets not talk about coat tails and tag alongs. We all fly banners now and again.

I know basketball doesn't factor into these decisions but it's hard to imagine a program like Kansas going to the MWC or Conf. USA.

Yeah going to be really interesting next few weeks for college football. I've been staying clear of the expansion debate till now, wonder what the SEC plans to do...

DeLoss Dodds will decide in the morning.
That's more like it. Don't act as if A&M is anything more than little brother in the backseat hoping big brother lets him play in the game on the schoolyard.

You're vastly underrating the jump in recruiting those teams, especially TCU, would get from joining the big leagues.

From ESPN, "a number of Big 12 coaches saying they did everything they could to save the Big 12, but were unsuccessful" Looks like the super conference seriously might happen.

If turns out to be true, Nebraska and Iowa are the two best teams in the western division of the big/little whatever they are.

Also, why in the world would Texas want to go to the Pac 10 and share the spot light with USC?

Even though neither Texas or USC need it, it's all about the dollar signs my friend.

Surely they see it as inevitable. The only other option for them is to go independent and get there own tv deal. If Notre Dame can do it, so can Texas. Only thing is that they won't have much help during the rough years.

So with Nebraska going to the Big Ten Friday when should the chain reaction start of other teams moving? Also who are potential targets for the SEC besides Texas?

I vote for Big XII Commissioner, Don Beebe, for IDIOT OF THE YEAR. He ran the conference like his old stomping grounds, the OVC, and literally ran it to the ground.

I think Texas is more or less simply looking to make a big splash. Nebraska just started the domino effect. So if the Pac 10 is pulling up this offer that Texas simply won't turn down (TV deals, bigger markets, more conference exposure). Then Texas is about to single handedly change the landscape of college football. I can't see Texas as an independent.

I hope not.. Sad day when there is no more Nebraska - Oklahoma game. Change for money isn't always the best thing. JMO/./././

AH! the rich new tradition of Nebraska-Minnesota....

They already only play every few years. They could actually play more often now if they wanted too.
