Nebraska to Big Ten

So with Nebraska going to the Big Ten Friday when should the chain reaction start of other teams moving? Also who are potential targets for the SEC besides Texas?

I think it's going to happen a lot quicker than anyone could've expected. Unless Sportscenter was simply just blatantly lying a few minutes ago, then the talks have already begun and might already be approaching serious stage. And lets assume the Big 12 collapses, and those 6 teams go to the pac 10. And then the Big 10 continues trying to build their superconference. Then i think you'll se the SEC go after the likes of FSU, Miami, Ga Tech, Clemson, or a few others. At which point the ACC will probably be scrambling for some of the remaining Big East teams. We could very well be witnessing the end of both the Big 12 and the Big East conferences.

Nebraska just found a new conference to dominate just like back in the day.

Why would the SEC want Clemson or Ga Tech?

GTech has a historical connection with the SEC and would be a natural rivalry for Georgia, but playing for something on the line. Same with Clemson and South Carolina. They would have so much meaning for both rivals already besides bragging rights.

Yeah, those games will be so much more important when they decide who goes to the Music City Bowl.

Too bad money is driving the bus and not history or rivals. If they don't open a new market I don't see them coming.

It's been almost 20 years since OU and Nebraska played on an annual basis.

"TRADITION" Most are not made in a 20 year period.

I guess when you have been around and watching as long as I have you may see the day when Nebraska vs. Purdue every year, is more impressive than Nebraska vs. Okla. every 3 years...

That Mizzou vs. Northwestern game will really pack'em in...LOL...JMO...

I know Neb-Kansas is not interesting either but it just seems right.

Wouldn't it be weird if the SEC offered to take all 4 Texas schools?

No single alumni of any one school could block Texas to the Pac-10, but a contingent of all 3 could.

Not that they will.

But they could.

Just wondering how many fans will Texas or Texas A&M take to games at Washington,WashingtonSt.,OregonSt.
If it comes down to it I think both of these schools fit better with the SEC.

If the OU-Nebraska game was that important, they'd have never stopped playing every year. Division play didn't end the Tennessee-Alabama series. Nebraska was never the biggest game on the OU schedule. That's played in the Cotton Bowl in early October.

Sources: All signs point to Nebraska to Big Ten - ESPN

Big Ten bylaws state that any applicant to the league must receive at least eight votes from the Big Ten Council of Presidents/Chancellors to gain admission.

Besides Nebraska, no other candidates are imminent for the Big Ten, which could stay put with 12 members, the source said.

Will the Big 10 vote on candidates one at a time or will they all come together as a block?

The odd/even number of schools adds intrigue.

Would be nice but no way either schedules that type of OOC game every year...

I believe that game would be left for the history books...JMO
Yeah, that why OU just finished a series with Miami and have Ohio State, Tennessee, and Notre Dame on the horizon.
