Needing prayers.

I’m not very good at this and after reading some of what I’ve missed in this thread lately, I hesitate to even post. First off, prayers for all of y’all and sorry for the many requests I’ve missed lately.

The Army is doing Army type things (for those of you that have been around, you’ll understand), and despite being only a few months into this new temporary gig as a recruiter, my boss is PCS-ing (essentially transferring) to Louisiana, and the other recruiter that’s here has finished his time as a recruiter and is on his way back to the regular Army. As for replacements? The first one shows up in January. Brilliant. I barely know how to just be a recruiter, much less run the whole thing. My stress and anxiety is sky high. I know it’s not life threatening, but please say a prayer for me if y’all will. Thanks in advance. Like just pray that I can be 1/10th as resilient as Hunter or Tiff ya know?
First of all, thank you for giving us the opportunity to pray for you and your well being.

Second of all, what I'm going to offer is what I needed to hear (and didn't - cause I didn't even know to ask) in 2019 when our company doubled overnight: Find the ways that help you deal with the stress. You can't eliminate it, all you can do is go through it. Put things on your to-do list and make it as important as eating, exercising, sleeping, working, submitting reports, whatever. What you need to look for are things that keep you in the real world. Look for things that concrete your reality. The Bill that is currently doing this work in the Army, the Bill that grew up with Watauga Lake, the Bill who ..... fill in the blank. Find the things that keep that person front and center, and take good care of him. This has to come first. (I know that's easier said than done.)

Third, regardless of HOW everything is gonna go, it's gonna go. You are gonna get the work done, you'll figure the stuff out, and it won't be perfect ..... but none of us ever do things perfectly. You will feel the accomplishment afterwards, years from now maybe - when you look back at it - and you gotta remind yourself now and then that that day is comin'.

Well I’m apparently already failing this 😂😂😂. I think it’s just allergies as I’ve been rushing home the last few nights to get my yard mowed and do fall yard prep to make it look pretty next year, but I suddenly can’t smell and I’m waiting (for two hours) to see if I need to be tested. Ughhhh.

In all seriousness, this is what I’ve looked at. I actually do like yard work, and I’m actively working to balance a schedule so I can get exercise (biking, running especially) and find my happiness.

Oh man! You do love a challenge. haha

Seriously, hope it is something you can get over quick.

And it’s covid… so the first ten days of this three month adventure begin by working/quarantining from home

Take care of yourself, and I hope you sail on through!
Proof the vaccine works at least so far. I wouldn’t have even known anything if it wasn’t that I couldn’t smell anything. Can’t taste either, but I can breathe normal, my temp is normal, heart rate is normal, etc. get your shots people and wear masks!

Tired of the mask, just stay away from errbody. 😛

Please pray for my wife and her family. Her dad has been very ill for about a month with several health problems. The family decided this morning to remove him from life support tomorrow morning. She also lost her mom to cancer just a few years ago (only in her 50s), so any prayers you can spare would help greatly.
Thank you all for the prayers. It means a lot.

Unfortunately, her dad passed away yesterday afternoon before they had a chance to remove him from life support. They tried to revive him so the family could say their final goodbyes as planned, but were unsuccessful.

She's doing better today, but prayers are still welcomed.

I started getting sick on Wednesday with a sore throat. Had fever and chills yesterday. Back to just minor sore throat today. I questioned going to get tested, but I've been at home since our return on Sunday and just waiting this out. Common cold vs. Covid, no idea.
