P.S.: The wifes aunt was discharged from the hospital yesterday after nearly 3 months. God is good and prayers DO work! THANK YOU to my VN family for all the prayers!

I don’t have a lot of details, as I was emptying out the nearby Harris Teeter, but he came through the surgery fine.

The big news is that although one kidney is not really functioning, the other is very healthy. He does NOT have chronic kidney disease, he shouldn’t need a kidney transplant, and he’ll just need to be followed by a nephrologist (kidney specialist) for the rest of his life, being very careful about infections and injury to the healthy kidney.

Unless something changes, he should be discharged home Sunday.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers and support. Don’t tell anyone, but we’ve got good peeps here.

Thanks Volly. I knew he had other medical issues (and knew he had COVID) but had no idea he was as bad as he was (His spouse is on the vent now too).

I just got word that my cousin died of a heart attack this morning. She was 64 and lived in Glade Spring, VA. She had some type of surgery for diverticulitis a little while back and had to be trached for a couple of weeks but seemed to be doing great. This is the third cousin of mine who has died since March. Please keep our family in your prayers. Thanks.
