Needing prayers.

She is very alert today, in a regular room. WBC still a little elevated.
The MRI on her head showed a brain edema, which we don't know how that happened.
She is scheduled for a test on some spinal fluid as a follow up to the brain edema.
Still praying for her, Gordon.

Home for the night.
She is able to get up and go to the bathroom without any help.
Her confusion is pretty much gone, words are clear.
Her blood pressure went up a little bit tonight, but she was upset that everyone had to leave. I think that's what it was. They're gonna test it again in an hour.
They want to test her spinal fluid still because of that brain edema and will probably keep her a couple of more days. I noticed they are giving her an anti-viral (along with the antibiotics for the sepsis), and I think that is out of caution.
I didn't say anything earlier, but in the ER, her BP stayed over 220 on the top for a long time, too long, and it took the meds a while to bring it down.
The best part of today is that both of the girls (and all four grandkids) were able to come see her because she's in a regular room.
Our youngest daughter brought Thanksgiving dinner (first time she had ever cooked a whole turkey before), and my wife and I were able to have TG dinner together in the hospital room.
So many things to be thankful for on this day of thanks.
Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
Thanks.

Aww, bless you guys, and your family, and her doctors and nursing staff! Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Good news for the most part Gordon. Still praying for y'all, brother.

My wife is feeling a lot better. She is still in the hospital. They came in to drain the spinal fluid yesterday, but were not able to draw it. They want to rule out viral encephalitis before they release her.
Her white blood count is still going down.
Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
Thanks

@GordonC, how's Ms. C doing?
Hey,
Not much change. They were able to get a spinal fluid sample today. Then they ordered another MRI on her head. She's feeling great right now, but they are still trying to figure out what's going on.
Thanks for asking. I'll keep everyone posted when I find out something. The weekend delayed that spinal sample and the second MRI.
Normally, that hospital's reputation is to release people pretty quickly (demand for rooms).
I'm glad they're taking their time with her. :)

I'm glad, too. So many hospitals are now run like a hot-sheet motel. I'm glad that she's feeling so much better!
