Needing prayers.

We waited all day to be released at 5:00, but she is home.
We are waiting for the home health people to deliver the IV bags (they say sometime after 830).
She will do 28 days of antibiotics via IV here at the house, then 2 months of oral antibiotics (Ampicillin fluid/Amoxycillin oral), and return for an MRI on her brain in three months.
I bought plenty of probiotics just in case

Unfortunately, I understand all that completely. I will say it's nice being able to do it at home, rather than driving to the hospital every day. She once a day, or twice? The one Tiffany is in now is thankfully once a day, and only about 30-45 minutes. We've had deliveries at midnight with her antibiotics, but mostly in the late evening.

Did they ever come up with a diagnosis? Sounds like they ruled out viral meningitis (you wouldn't do abx infusions for a viral infection)

Sepsis
UTI
Encephalitis
HBP

Yeah the spinal fluid showed only bacteria, so they dropped acyclovir and kept the abx. The BP has been a borderline issue for a while.

I'm glad (well, sorry for you guys, because the infusions are a serious PITA) that they're addressing the bacteria in the spinal fluid. That's something you don't want to have.

Update on the remaining twin, and the family appreciates all your prayers. The baby is still living and only weighing 16 ounces and will be in the hospital until maybe April and continued prayers are so appreciated and I talked with the grandmother today and the baby needs prayers for a hole in the heart
Needs prayers for problems with the lungs and could be deaf or blind.

We're praying

My sister just called, my mom's Dr sent her to the hospital. She's been sick a few days, mostly nauseous, but she's lost over 5lbs in a couple of days. Fever, heart rate high, and BP low, kinda sounds like infection. Just say a prayer for her if you would.

Praying, Joe! Is she in a good hospital?
