Nerlens Noel and UK

The average UK fan's opinion of Calipari in 2008 was probably 180 degrees from what it became in 2009.

Bingo.
They KNEW him, they just didn't know they would later LOVE him

It's far easier to tolerate a UK fan who admits to what UK got into bed with and the reason they did it, than a UK fan who views Calipari in the same esteem as others may view, for example, Pat Summitt.

It's the UK fan who goes to bed thinking Calipari is the infallible basketball angel who was sent from heaven that, on a good day, makes me shake my head, and, on a bad day, drives me nuts.

The NYT published an article on the shady characters around this kid before he committed to Kentucky.

The truth hurts. Not everyone follows college basketball seriously. Most just root on their team and bleed blue.

Like the homers of UK know this stuff, yeah right.

Huh?

If what you said about UK fans and Calipari were completely true, I don't see why anyone else would be "hurting" over UK fans being so detatched from everything college basketball.

As the other poster said, I don't want to hear about how knowledgeable UK fans are if they can't name a single coach who works in another state.

If the majority of UK fans didn't know who Calipari was in 2008, then they must not currently know who the heck that Kroozewoohski guy is.

Something is seriously wrong with your way of thinking. 100% of UK fans my age (32) have known who John Calipari since his first season at UMass. I'm not sure where your ill-informed opinion is originating.

I would beg to differ. Ask the college population, the over 60 population and see how many knew him 4-5 years ago.

smh. You apparently do not properly understand the proper ebb and flow of a debate, nor how to dissect information. Never mind.

holy cow, is this serious???

calipari was one of the more popular coaches of the last 10 years. the majority of people that follow CBB knew who calipari was much longer than 4 years ago.

start a poll on VN, im willing to bet it'll be around 90% knew who he was before he came to UK.
