Nerlens Noel Out For The Season

UK will drop from the top 25, but they'll still be on the cusp of re-entering it. A loss at Florida is nothing to be ashamed of. And if they absolutely crush UT, I'd say they'll stay in the top 25.

Lunardi doesnt even have them listed in his "first 5 in" or "first 5 out"....which means he considers them relativity safe barring a meltdown. A loss Saturday will draw major concerns, but they wont be on the outside looking in if it happens.

25 was a sympathetic ranking, much like Notre Dame's bloated ratings of yesteryear when they sucked. Kentucky doesn't deserve to be close to 25. IMO.

Sly,
If these 4 are in the top 25, then UK belongs, too.

Colorado State
Memphis
New Mexico
Gonzaga

If UK played any of these they'd be favorite, except Gonzaga and I still think UK wins.

Really? Wow.

Are you serious? Kentucky will not be the only good team. Carolina and Dook will be good, and if Wiggins goes to Unc, they will be better. So yes, really.

Only way Kentucky is ridiculous is if Wiggins goes....

So, 5 McDonalds All Americans on your incoming class isn't enough, I guess. lol

You are out of touch with reality. On the road, UK loses 3 outta 4.

Lunardi's last was pre Florida loss, a loss tomorrow and UK will likely be on the bubble. UK hardly has a bid locked up, I wouldn't be celebrating at this point if I was you.

You're a bit blinded by the blue glasses my man.

Celebrating? LOL One thing I'll never do is celebrate UK making the tourny.

I never said UK was a lock, but I'm not real concerned. Coming off a national title, I think UK fans need to just be appreciative that they're in the upper part of the SEC. Or maybe thats just a sign how AWFUL the conference is.

NIT or NCAA, I'm not bothered. Cats will be chasing another title next season, so its not like UK is down and out for years to come.

There is no way in hell that Carolina is going to jump from the NIT to #1, I don't care who they get.

Kentucky should be the best team in the country next year. Easily the most talented.

While I understand the optimism, I wouldn't go ahead and ink UK into next years championship game. A couple injuries, busts, or just not coming together as a unit are all things that could occur with next years team.

Now, do I think they'll be there, probably that team on paper is insane...however, one thing I've learned with CBB is don't ever count your chickens before they hatch.

Lol. They will have pretty much everyone back and Wiggins is visiting the Duke/Carolina game on senior night, so anything can happen with him.

Kentucky will be talented, but not experienced.

Kentucky isn't the only team with incoming MD all Americans, or that already has some on campus. How did that work out for you this year with no experience?

Let me guess, Unc sucks, but Kentucky is just young and down? Is that how this works? Cal better thank God everyday that Kendall Marshall broke his wrist last year.

No, but Kentucky is the only team with 5 MD AA's coming in - there are 5 total coming to the ACC at this point.

This year is an abberation, a statistical outlier compared to Cal's track record. Win some, lose some. They will be far better next year.

Track record? It worked once. Yes they bring in a bunch of talent, but five freshmen don't guarantee a title .

Further, has Calipari ever brought in two freshman guards who played on the same high school team and who were both McD AAs?

I can only imagine the problematic possibilities of such a situation. If it works, then it is a great bargain; if not, then you have two kids running the offense, sticking together against Coach Cal, and trying to rely on how they have always done it.

Cal has already stated that AAs are both a blessing and a curse. That it takes incredible work to break their habits. At least in the past, he was breaking individual habits, though. Now, he will have to break a group habit between two players (brothers, nonetheless). I just do not see it working well.
