New Arizona Immigration Law

A Portrait of Unauthorized Immigrants in the United States - Pew Hispanic Center

Hispanics and Arizona's New Immigration Law - Pew Research Center

■Hispanics in Arizona.
According to Pew Hispanic Center tabulations from the 2008 American Community Survey, there are 2 million Hispanics in Arizona, representing 30% of the state's population. One-third (33%) of Arizona Hispanics are foreign born.4

■Undocumented Immigrants in Arizona.
The Pew Hispanic Center estimates that approximately 500,000 undocumented immigrants resided in Arizona in 2008.5 Nearly all (94%) of these undocumented immigrants are from Mexico. Moreover, approximately 10% of Arizona's workforce is undocumented.

so with this, there's a 4 to 1 ratio of legal hispanics to illegal hispanics in arizona.

ton of research out there... i invite you to research it too.

nope, that you can't understand basic math

seriously? Walk me through how 30% and 9% work out to a 3:1 ratio?

I know several have mentioned that you have to be pretending, since nobody can be so dense. I'm starting to believe that.

what a crock. I don't buy any of the numbers.

Now, here is where the help will come.

You said there are 2 million Hispanics in AZ, with 9% being illegal. How could any 3:1 or 3:1 ratio result from those numbers. Forget the info you left out earlier in getting to 3:1.

my previous numbers weren't from the article i posted... there are many sources out there. obviously, it's impossible to get a 100 percent accurate total of illegal hispanics in arizona, therefore the numbers are going to vary.

but YOU show me a poll below 2 to 1 legals to illegals and i'll be shocked.

i've done my research... time to do yours.

Might want to recheck your figures there, brainiac.
might want to look up several sources, and shockingly, it's overwhelmingly in favor of legal hispanics to illegal hispanics... and somehow legal citizens won't be profiled... the math just doesn't add up.

I did a poll. There are 1.5:1 legals to illegals in Arizona. It's a problem.

One illegal is a problem if we know he's there and are doing nothing about it, period.

was this intended to make sense - in English?

You need to do a bit more.

The last six words of that are the only correct thing you've ever poster.

are you two the same people???? ahhahaha

and incorrect... there are wayyy more legal hispanics in arizona than illegals... find an article anywhere that says otherwise, please!! prove me wrong.

in one article i read is said there was a 3:1 ratio. in another it said 4:1... this isn't hard to comprehend. post your articles that say otherwise.

I would almost guarantee that you didn't read said articles, just like I gurantee you still haven't read the bill.

explain to us slow folk who don't get it WTF difference it makes. The issue is about the fact that there are dramatically more illegals than the law allows and the AZ people want that rectified.
