Interesting that Mahoney has ties to La and Jancek coached at UGA.... both within the last few years.

I am unsure it is a good idea to bring too many of those guys though. You need some Tennessee and southeast roots.

Jancek is the real deal! I think our defense will be drastically improved.

Truthfully they are all average coaches, with the DC having the best career so far. We will have a very average coaching staff. I'm sorry but that's the truth. This has big ten coaching staff written all over it.

This is what I was afraid of when they hired Jones. I'll reserve judgment, but you have to have SEC-caliber coaches to win in the SEC. I'm not convinced most of these guys are SEC-caliber or ever will be.

Jancek's co-coordinated defense gave up 45 points to the Vols in Neyland in Jon Crompton's coming out party. ....that staff was fired after the season.

The best staff in college football, no doubt. Surely, we are beating out USC, Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State and others for their highly desired services.

Cincy's brand of football has born ZERO resemblance to Big 10 football. Not sure what you are trying to say.

That makes zero sense troll boy

Far from a troll little boy but stating the facts. Who has heard of any of these coaches????? Until I'm proven wrong, this is a bad dream that won't go away. You can slice it up anyway you want to to make yourself believe this is the best staff in college football, give me a frekin break!!!!

Keep Graham, Pitman, Hinshaw and go after Tee Martin, Zook as DC, Marion Hobby as DL coach and Steele as LB coach then I will start to believe in this coach not these nobody's that nobody has heard of before.

MAC football here we come!

Hope so if they can man the team with SEC caliber athletes. The MAC plays a very good brand of football. It has evolved to more emulate the SEC than the Big 10 has. I think that's why you fairly often see MAC teams beating Big 10 teams even with lesser athletes.

I'm saying look at where all those guys have coached at in the past and where their coaching ties are from. Mostly north, they would be a perfect fit at a Purdue or a Wisconsin and I think they are deserving of those jobs. I don't see them in southern football and I don't believe they are deserving to follow Butch to UT.

from football scoop

Tennessee: Cincinnati offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian and defensive coordinator John Jancek will join Butch Jones at Tennessee. Bajakian will serve as OC. Jancek might be DC; but is humble enough to not need the title and is willing to work as linebackers should Butch decide to bring another defensive coordinator in. Sources also tell us that Tennessee running backs coach Jay Graham will be retained. More to come

So now we are comparing the Vols to MAC football and not smash mouth blooded lip SEC football???? After 40 years of watching and loving Tennessee football, my grandfather must be turning over in his grave!

Pittman was not retained. Hinshaw I think was retained. T I believe will be here. Sunseri is gone which was great news along with everyone on defense.

I couldn't agree more!!!! If your recruiting the south, you have to understand our culture and passion that no northern "Yankee" can ever understand! Heck, do any of these coaches even know what callard greens, grits, biscuts and gravy, friend chicken livers, ya'll, etc.... mean???? Another thing, not one minority in this group???
