If saban , les miles and Meyers did it SEC way why do u think Butch Jones and his co-ordinators won't do it ? They are smart and paid in millions guys..don't you think they know the stuff that evryone in this board does ?
Every coordinator runs offense/defense depending on type of personnel they have and also they type of personnel they face !! Simple as that !!
If you don''t understand that fact you become sunseri and give up 721 yards to troy !!

Not basing my opinions on facebook or twitter just stating everybody in America knows this hire is a joke!

My co-worker who played RB at University of Miami under Coach Howard S and he is friends with Butch Davis, Coker, Jim Kelly, Mark Richt, Otis Anderson, Frank Gore and more said to me yesterday "Your boys hired Butch Jones, who the hell is he, I've never heard of him"!!!! He and my other co-workers made jokes all day about this and Tennessee!!!

These coaches are known for yearly nfl draft picks, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Cinci defense players are nfl ready, go ask your NFL insiders.

Not crying over it buddy, but is it too much to get a proven high caliber coach with the money, resources and passionate fans we have to compete against the likes of Bama, LSU, South Carolina, Georgia, Gators, Miss State and Texas AM and more?????

Like I said, Jones gets 3 years to turn this ship around or needs to be gone just like Dooley!!

I'll take the #12 scoring defense next year and jump for joy. Get technical all you want but not letting them score is the best defense there is and he's been pretty good in that dept.

Big Ten... MAC... six of one, half-a-dozen of the other. Not a whole lot of difference. Bottom line, Jones nor his staff have any D1 major program head coaching or coordinator experience. Check out his staff's player recruiting at UofCincy: most are two star, mixed with a few three star and a couple of Non-rated players. He had two QB commits that are two star. I am lowly underwhelmed by Hart's bust of a hire. He ought to be fired!

If you want to recruit players you do.

They don't have to be from Tennessee or the southeast but they need to have coached in the SE recently.

He starts behind if he doesn't have anyone with history in Florida and Georgia.

Well said! Hart should be fired!

1) He paid UofCincy $1.4M to buy out Jones' contract
2. He is giving Jones a $500K signing bonus in January
3) He is giving Jones over $3M a year with generous performance bonuses
4) He will pay Jones $2M a year through the contract term if Jones is fired or asked to resign (the contract is through 2/28/2019)
5) It appears that Graham is the only assistant being retained. Why not keep the other assistants in whatever capacity Jones wants them to serve, and let them earn the $$$ UT is paying for their buyouts?
6) If you look at Jones' commits at UofCincy, you will see a bunch of two stars, a few three stars, and several non-rated players. Certainly not very impressive except perhaps on the Sun Belt level

Hart and Cheek ought to be fired over this hiring fiasco.

GBO.................. in spite of Cheek and Hart.
