I don't have any sources. But so far, I don't have any signings wrong either. We will have to continue paying our dues in the loss column, now no matter who we get the SEC is going to be tuff, no longer will I get excited about beating the wayward school for girls of the blind by 50 points.

Ark just hired the best coach in the Big ( slow) Ten. Why are our ADs always letting us down? Who hires these guys anyway? Mike Hamilton should be in jail for murder. He has killed our beloved football program. Iam reserving judgment on MrHart : so far, he has not made a great impression, but we will see.

Former Vol Johnny Mills was just on WJHL TV. He said it is amazing how far our program has gone down. He said 10 years ago almost any coach would have jumped at the chance to coach at UT. Now we can't find one who wants to.

Will West (Knoxville Radio Station) just reported that sources from inside the AD say that Gruden is back in play.

I so hope this is true. After hearing the last set of possible candidates we need him. When you have Rich Rodriguez, Bo Pelini, Kirby Smartt, etc. we need to get a coach that can restore Tennessee.

The sheer ridiculousness of all of these posts is amazing! I have sat here and looked through most of them thinking to myself that most of you are completely idiotic. I have no clue what or why most of you take every rumor to heart or believe everything you read or see online. The fact is most of these scenarios (Gruden/Grider) are purely fantasy and made up to get you all going. Even articles on ESPN which site "sources" are not completely accurate. We have all seen these to be incorrect. i.e.(Chris Low's blib stating the offer to Gruden included a piece of the Brown's) I mean seriously if you legitimately think about that, you will see how utterly asinine that sounds. The only thing that any of us can be sure of right now is we have no Coach and mediocre prospects. Maybe just maybe there is a 'Dark Horse" but time will tell. Chances are we will get Dooley part 2 and maybe it will work out better this time. That is the reality of it. Sad but true. None of this changes the fact that if you are reading these message boards you are a true die hard fan and love our Vols. All I am asking is be reasonable be patient and stop being so freaking ridiculous.

It's really starting to look like we totally wasted $7 Million in buyouts to end up getting another nobody coach again and in another 3 or 4 years we'll be looking for another coach to start rebuilding all over again.

Something is starting to smell really bad in K town and I'm beginning to really hate having anyone in any power position from Bama, FloriDUHHH or anywhere else in the SEC running anything.

The way things are going it might have been smarter from a financial standpoint to keep CDD for 1 more year and use the entire year to recruit a serious homerun hire as HC and save several Million $$$ that we badly need for several other things.

Wasting $7 Million to only settle for a CDD 2.0 is crazy.

Maybe we need to bump the offer up to $5 Million per year and go get a proven winner that can recruit with the best in the country.

This is really making Tennessee look pathetic and every recruit in America is watching.

Look, Hart has said NOTHING about the search, so all we have is rumor and speculation, and until we hire a new coach, WE HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO TALK ABOUT. Yes, we all love the Vols, and since our season is over, this is what we do.

and if you can't understand that, then clearly you have found things to fill your life with other than message boards. whatever.

If I were to sum up all the conjecture, We really only have 2 possible scenarios:

1 - Hart has put his ENTIRE YEAR to work on this issue to good use. Gruden is our man, but things got too public and too hot, and they can't make an announcement yet, so they both have spent the last week flushing out rabbits, and our announcement is coming soon.

2 - Hart is a cock-up, and TN is looking at a long stretch of mediocrity.

I had hope for a grand slam coach that would restore us back to our glory. We did not hire the one we all wanted. It is what it is, now. Maybe Butch Jones will work out supported by a great staff, maybe not. But let's dont mistreat him. He at least wanted to be part of our team and obviously thinks he can handle it or would not have come to us. I think we should give him a chance and welcome him and support his enthusiasm and efforts.
As far as the OGs on this site....WOW what a ride, it was/is very exciting. I hold nothing against you guys at all!!!! You shared your knowledge based on what you were told and gave us hope. You did not force it on us and cannot predict nor control the future. We are adults that took your information and applied it as WE saw it and HOPED it would be. Not sure why we'd go after Jones, especially if the rumors were true and Bo Pelini from Nebraska really did reach out to us. Seems like he's the more proven coach in a power conference..

I'm going to support the Vols through and through, but deep down, I feel like this could turn out to be a disaster. Need to do more research on Jones though, and I hope more than anything I'm wrong. Maybe this will be our long-term and winning coach, afterall. GBO!!

This guy was DC at LSU prior to Chavis and their defense has not dropped in effort,talent or scheme since he left LSU , I could have looked good at LSU with the talent on defense they had while he was DC at LSU ! This just in Wisconsin just scored on Pelini's Huskers again !

I would like to walk back my statement. It was my first reaction and I am starting to really like the hire. There were other candidates that peaked my interest more but there was not any other coach, that was being considered, that wanted to be here more I am 100% behind Butch Jones. GBO.
