I agree with all of this. Those guys were all taking first or second string reps from their very first practice. Dobbs was taking 4th string reps (aka 3 or 4 live scrimmage reps per practice) for more than half the season. Unfair to compare. Based on physical ability, I think he could be a good QB. He has a good arm and good speed/elusiveness. His brain wasn't ready for the SEC, and his accuracy definitely needs some honing. Definitely was the QB in most need of a redshirt for development purposes.
Just wasn't in the cards. If he wins the QB battle (which I doubt he will), it will not necessarily spell disaster for us. Sometimes it just takes a little while for it all to click.
You think they want to rank Bama as anything but #1?
I checked the Rivals site, thinking the composite score is the only thing keeping them ahead right now
You get bonus points for things. They have more 6.0 four stars than us, etc. Also 1more five star. The bonuses put Bama ahead. Out of the top 20 players that count, we have 16 four stars, 2 fives, and two 5.7 three stars. No way this isn't top 3-4 by signing day. That's assuming we don't lose a few 4*'s.
I know <sigh> Just hate seeing Bama #1 in everything...except the BCS poll lol
I figure we'll lose a few of the commits to a smooth talking recruiter from another school. It always happens, but I'm not sweating it since we can do the same to others. Shouldn't pop us down too much.
But I'll take a top 10 class no matter what. Considering how we've dwindled down the past couple of years, it's time to get back into the fight. And hoping these recruits make an impact from the start.
I may be proven wrong, but I really think if any were going to bail they already would have. After each loss, I held my breath waiting for the mass exodus to happen. Instead we kept getting new commits. Mind boggling.
Yes it is. I despise Urban. It makes me happy to see him get his wittle dweams squashed.
I can live with Auburn vs FSU. I expect Auburn to run the Noles out of the house like they have everyone else.
Hmmm, wouldn't quite go that far. I mean, without Winston, you think they would be running over teams like they are?
After seeing FSU put the brakes on Clemson earlier this year, I think they might be just good enough on Defense to slow Aubbie down a little. There is no way the barn is stopping Winston the Great. I see FSU winning by 2 TDs unless the Plainstigerwareaglemen continue their freaky luck streak, and a bunch of freaky weird stuff happens. FSU is an SEC team in a weak arse conference.
