How about durability? I have cracked three screens in the past 2 years, twice from seemingly trivial incidents (especially given that the Razr Maxx was advertised to have Gorilla Glass). Might look into a more protective case this time around to avoid the cost/hassle of insured replacement (which I believe to be a major $$$ scam).
As far as size: I usually carry my phone in my pocket, and I run with it (either on my fuel belt or in an armband). The Note is definitely out.
I don't like any phone that I can't use a memory card with.
the Droid maxx did away with that feature so I won't be upgrading from the first razr maxx to that one. I prefer Droid, so the S5 or note 3 for me in a few weeks.
The 2 new Galaxy S5 phones will be shown to the public next Monday, the 24th.
Also, if you're eligible for upgrades, you might want to review your whole cellular budget and plans. Lots of things have changed in the last year and you might be able to save money with ATT or somewhere else.
I've never had a single issue with durability with my iPhones. I run with mine and I was caught out in the rain at Oregon vs UT 2010 and was soaked to the bone. The phone went on the fritz for about 12 hours. Put it in rice and it was back.
I use a case and no screen protector. I have dropped my phone a handful of times and have never had an issue.

I always have, unless something has changed?
Verizon does not allow you to upgrade and keep unlimited data now. (not sure which co. you have)
They will not subsidize a phone on an unlimited data account.
So, you pay full price, use their financing plan (I think that's possible), or give up your unl data.
