How about durability? I have cracked three screens in the past 2 years, twice from seemingly trivial incidents (especially given that the Razr Maxx was advertised to have Gorilla Glass). Might look into a more protective case this time around to avoid the cost/hassle of insured replacement (which I believe to be a major $$$ scam).

As far as size: I usually carry my phone in my pocket, and I run with it (either on my fuel belt or in an armband). The Note is definitely out.

I've never had a single issue with durability with my iPhones. I run with mine and I was caught out in the rain at Oregon vs UT 2010 and was soaked to the bone. The phone went on the fritz for about 12 hours. Put it in rice and it was back.

I use a case and no screen protector. I have dropped my phone a handful of times and have never had an issue.

I don't like any phone that I can't use a memory card with.

the Droid maxx did away with that feature so I won't be upgrading from the first razr maxx to that one. I prefer Droid, so the S5 or note 3 for me in a few weeks.

The 2 new Galaxy S5 phones will be shown to the public next Monday, the 24th.

Also, if you're eligible for upgrades, you might want to review your whole cellular budget and plans. Lots of things have changed in the last year and you might be able to save money with ATT or somewhere else.

People point to lack of expanbable memory as a shortcomming for iphone but i have yet to run into a scenario when I needed it. I use iTunes Match for my personal music so it takes up no space on my phone. I upload my pics to my Mac every so often anyway (it takes 1000s before it becomes an issue). If space is ever too tight I do a liitle spring cleaning and delete seldom/never used apps (i can always redoenliad them if I ever need it).

Heck, ive got a drawer full of SD cards and thumb drives that rarely get any use. With cloud based storage and sharing options its a dying technology.

I am eligible for an upgrade on the 24th. I like my S 3 , may wait a while. The wife has some kind of LG that is crap, may get her a Note.

Mine was dropped into a pot of soapy dish water for a solid 10 seconds. Spent the night in a bowl of rice and works fine now. Ive also dropped mine a dozen times and not a scratch on it. I have a slim case on but no screen protector.

My wife on the other hand, shattered her screen. Luckily she was due for an upgrade. Verizon sales people talked her into an $80 lifeproof case. I HATE it. Makes the phone feel cheap and plastic. Seems to interfere with the speaker phone mic and makes the retina screen look hazy. Reviews I read say it doesn't even protect against drops. I guess its great if you take it to a water park or something like that, otherwise its a waste of money IYAM.

seems everyone got iI phones in my house a couple of years ago and everyone of them has cracked a screen, ruined in water or otherwise broke beyond repair. My droid 4 has lasted years with out any problems.

I'm still grandfathered with unlimited data...so that makes it tough to switch.

I want to say they told me in the past that switching to iPhone would remove that grandfather clause. not certain, though.

I always have, unless something has changed?

Verizon does not allow you to upgrade and keep unlimited data now. (not sure which co. you have)

They will not subsidize a phone on an unlimited data account.

So, you pay full price, use their financing plan (I think that's possible), or give up your unl data.
