unfreakingbelievable.

102.5 is switching over to sports to compete with 104.5 The Geek Plaster Zone.

Nashville Business Journal:
"[Cromwell Radio boss Bud] Walters also said the company is in discussion to secure radio partnerships with teams and schools, though at least one of those deals appears to be complete. According to the affiliate list of the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide Sports Network, WPRT will carry 'Bama sports in the Nashville market."

Rumor was they were going with Darren McFarland as the lead host. For those not in Nashville, McFarland is an idiot of the highest order.

Not a rumor. Brad Hopkins too. Super Fly is even worse than McFarland.

Comes just one day after the thread about all the Bama crap in and around Nashville.

Here's the link to the only article I could find on their site. I don't see anything about Bama mentioned in it. In fact, the only thing about programming is this:

So far, the station has announced only one show – The First Quarter – which will air from 6 to 10 am and feature radio personality Darren McFarland and former Tennessee Titans tackle Brad Hopkins.

I don't care who they carry as long as it's not that arrogant little piss ant Clay Travis. I stopped listening to the mid-day show on 104 because I simply could not stomach any more. So yea, I'll give 'em a shot.

wow suddenly 1045 the zone doesnt seem so bad
I doubt it will last, for some reason anytime a station has tried to go against the zone, the zone ratings shoot up and they get new programming

Sorry, not BizJournal. It is from the Nashville Post website, whatever that is. It is a paysite, but the tease says they will carry Crimson Tide sports...puked just typing it.

This will fail. Quickly. Darren McFarland is awful.

There are a lot of bama fans in Nashville, but not enough to carry a radio station.

What is wrong with our state? Memphis, now Nashville, Chattanooga. Does any city outside of Knoxville embrace the Vols?

This just plain sux out loud. I thought there was going to be a good alternative to the Zone, but this will not hack it. To all the people who hate on Clay; he is self effacing as hell. He doesn't take himself nearly as serious as you all do. It's called sarcasm.
