Sweet. I've been to every main island in Hawaii... I love the north side of Oahu. I've stayed at the Grand Wailea before as well, which was fantastic. Unbelievably beautiful.

"Beautiful" doesn't even do it justice, you know? I stayed at the Kea Lani, which is right next to the Grand Wailea. Equally as impressive. We ate at the Wailea and had probably the best Ahi of my life. You didn't get to play golf there, did you? I was on a honeymoon, and "golf clubs" were not on the packing list, if you know what I mean.

Unfortunately, I don't have a road case for my clubs. Otherwise I would have. I got to go with my dad though, and drove around in the cart just looking around. Amazing course.

The city of Caen, in the Normandie region of France.  My girlfriend and I stayed there for two nights this summer while touring Normandy and the D-Day beaches.  Caen was the capitol of William the Conqueror and his castle was there.  Our hotel was right across the street from the castle walls.  Very cool.

Caen is beautiful, I have yet to go to Normandy, but will be there in Sept....I cannot wait to make the trek across the mud to St Michel, I have been to Lyon, Nice, Monte Carlo, Prague, Krakow, Bruge, Ireland, England, Berlin, Budahpest, Vienna, Geneva, Rome, Florence, Venice, Santorini and the list could go on, but the most incredible place to have a picnic, enjoy a wonderful little trod through the sparkling water and see some incredible castles is the Liore Valley just 2 hours or so south of Paris. The wife and I spent a week driving around sampling the different wines from the many vineyards, eating incredible food and cheeses etc and just enjoying ourselves. You can rent a house in the region fairly reasonably and the come with maid service etc that makes for an enjoyable stay. Ah the French, they are very considerate outside of the big city.

Just to bring the feel of summer coming, I am posting a pic from our last little getaway to bring the spring time flavors to life. This is a beach in Jamaica at Couple Swept Away, we love going there for a weekend every 3 or 4 months jst to have a little time away from work and the day to day pressure of traffic etc.

Yes, they are wonderful people. It's a shame they get a bad image because of politics and ignorance. The same can be said for foreign views of Americans.

The south of France is wonderful, you're right. We spent a lot of time in Montpellier this summer and all over Languedoc-Roussillon. My favorite part of our time in the South was canoeing near St-Guilhem-le-Desert. That canoeing trip was spectacular. Breathtaking views and so much fun.

The Med was neat. Going to the beach at Palavas-les-Flots was fun. The water was a little cold, but the views were awesome. ;)

Got to see Lance win his 6th Tour de France while I was there. That was incredible.

Now that is something to see, I wanted to do the tour, but the wife hates France in June-July, says it is too hot in the Southern end, i love Corsica, if you have not hit it, the place os totally different than the mainland, it almost seems like a different country, a cross between Italian and French, especially the food...and the seafood is to die for, my fav hotel is in Nice, the Le Merridien, 2 great things about it, the McDonalds underneath and the Casino right next door, not to mention the best ice cream in the world in old town, well, next to the Pistachio in Prague right off the square...but that is another story, might be more sex in Prague going on than in Amsterdam, it seemed tame in comparison with attitudes.

Yeah, France is very different in June and July. So many people on vacation. A lot of stores resturants closed on days other than Sunday and Monday. Gets hot too. Luckily, our hotel in Montpellier had AC. Of course in Paris, we didn't have AC.

Not sure where you guys stay in Paris... We found a nice little gem of a 2 star hotel with a pretty good location. We stayed at Hotel de la Sorbonne on rue Victor Cousin. It's literally next door from the Sorbonne just north of Blvd Saint Germain and the Latin Quarter there. I know some of that area can be a little touristy, but a lot of Paris is that time of year. It was convientent to the Metro and all the Quik's and McDo's you want. The best part, we stayed on the top floor and had a pretty large-sized room with a fantastic crossbreeze. We even climbed out onto the roof and had a very romantic view.

We've been wanting to go to Prague and to Corsica actually. I'm hoping we hit Corsica on our next trip over. I've heard great things. Possibly next Spring.

Got to put in another plug for Montana; Glacier Nat'l Park in particular.

Any of you been to Redlodge MT? We drove out of the Northeast entrance to Yellowstone. The Beartooth Hwy crosses between Wyoming and Montana and ends in Redlodge. Redlodge is a mining town. We stayed in the first brick building in the town. This place was frequented by many famous western figures (e.g. Wild Bill Hickock). Cool little town in the middle of nowhere.

The Beartooth Hwy is rated as one of the top drives in the U.S. (along with Going to the Sun road - another classic).

Oh yeah, that whole no speed limit thing is fun too... :p

When we came across Bear Tooth Pass, there were cars with Florida tags sitting everywhere and kids were playing in the snow.

When we are in Paris, we always stay at the Hotel Du Louvre, directly across from the Louvre in the Palais Royal, our favorite little cafe' is across the street, the M1 line is directly below, and we are close to the opera, Ritz, and Fauchons the best deli in the world.
