New UK uniforms for UT game

I hope they regret ever wearing those colours. I hope we crush them and send them back home wishing they had never bothered making the trip! :)

Drink another one over there in London my friend, the game is in lexington.

I think everyone might be missing the fact that this is an "alternate" uni. Probably won't wear it more than a few times for special games.

From my understanding it's a one game thing but I could be wrong. I thought it was just a promotional thing for the environment but I may be wrong. Curious to see what they actually look like in the court, many times it looks muh different.

I love it. Love the hate, it means that all is right in the world. Now, you guys have to hold up your end of the bargain in football.

Pretty sure our FB record against you guys the past couple decades is a hell of a lot better than your basketball record against us.

Just sayin'

My bad....

I could have sworn that it was a UT home game...

Oh well, I will curl up into a ball now and cry in shame. :cray:

Do you really like the unis though? I don't know why schools want to go away from tradition. I know the kids like to change up the color schemes and what not, but there is a reason that UT, Bama, Penn St, etc haven't changed their unis in football for quite some time. You don't mess with tradition. Schools that don't have as much change theirs up more. See Oregon.

The black unis that UT wore against USCjr back in 2009 weren't bad, but you could tell that Adidas had them thrown together at the last minute. No names on the back and they were pretty basic. You'd think if they were going to do something special then they would make a different uni look top quality. I do think those look better than that denim stuff they brought out way back, but pretty much anything would've looked better than that.

I think the new uni's are sharp as hell. That being said, I do not want the traditional home or away colors changed. This move is all about brand management and recruiting advantages. They will make minor changes every year to the regular uniforms that I understand, but should always stay true to the blue/white base. It's a gimmick, I get it, hoorah.

But again, the uni's are sharp IMO.

I guess Ky's colors are now grey or platinum or whatever the hell that color is supposed to be and blue and white. I don't understand why schools want to get away from their original school colors. Duke's black unis look like someone has taken a sh*t on them.

In the end, it's only about one thing. Money. Selling more varities of basically the same thing.

I can't stand Nike shoes. I'd much rather have adidas. More comfortable but that's just me.

You're right, I'm a UK fan and went to buy one of the limited edition warm up jackets (can be seen at the link on the first page of this post) and it was 145.00....eff that

You are on a Tennessee board suck it up or go away. If we want to make jokes about Ky fans this is our site and we will do it without needing a UK fan to chime in and cry about it. It was a joke no need to get in a tizzy, and as I said if you don't like it go away.

I will guarantee if I go to uk board I can find posters criticizing and poking fun at UT in some way shape or form.

That's what makes this fun, I'm a UK fan and I haven't found a UK forum better than VN

As long as you don't become a troll and try to turn every discussion into something involving UK then I'm more than happy to welcome you here.

I like talking SEC sports and I'm a UK fan living who has lived since 2000 in Tennessee so this is best of both worlds. If there were a good UK board I'd go there but I've not found one I like more than VN - UK fans are too negative.

Seems like VN likes bashing UK. If they dont like UK people coming in and saying stuff too then to bad. It will happen.

I love how the arm protector was made a fashion accessory by Allen Iverson, even though he wore it to actually protect his arm.

Whats too bad is when you get banned which is undoubtedly going to happen sooner than later. I dont know what part you don't understand, THIS IS A TENNESSEE BOARD. the purpose of this board is for TENNESSEE fans to come and discuss events and voice their opinions. If this includes us poking fun at another school, or displaying our dislike towards another school oh wellthat's why it's TENNESSEE board. Now if a fan from another school would like to join in on the conversations and contribute to the board in a manner that is in line with other TENNESSEE fans then great, they are more than welcomed here. This board is not for UK fans to come to to argue with TENNESSEE fans or try and stand up for their program. From what I have seen UK, and mainly YOU, are the only person who comes onto this board an tries to make it a different schools. We make fun and bash UF, we beat up on UCONN on here, we called vandy every name in the book, do you see people from those schools on here displaying their displeasure? NO! They know this is a TENNESSEE board and that those sort of thins come with the territory, you expect those things to go on. Here's an idea go to Catpause or whatever it is and see how many posters on there make negative remarks about other schools, then report back to me and let me know how many fan o other schools are member of that site an are arguing and sticking up or their team in UK board. It's very simple, this board is all things TENNESSEE and if we want to complain or beach or display of hatred about any school in the NCAA we will. If you don't like what is being said here there's a very simple solution, STOP COMING TO THIS SITE, and go back to your own!

Well good, glad to have you there are some UK fan that come on here for the sole purpose of arguing with Tennessee fans and trying to support their team which isn't what this board is for. It's nice to have an unbiased opinion about Tennessee sports though from another fan base such as yourself, thanks.

I like the "cheggerboard" pattern down the sides of the uniform.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

The layout was influenced by Gillispie to imitate the silks of a racehorse jockey. The "checkers" contain the years of our National Championships with an open box to contain the proverbial prospective championship (Waitin' for 8, etc.)

They have nothing to do with UTK other than coincidence.

The problem with your arguement bleedingTNorange is that it involves commen sense. Which is something very difficult for a Kentucky fan to understand. I do think you did a great job at trying to spell it out for him at an elementery level. That should make it easier for him to realize that this is a TENNESSEE board.

My whole family is from Kentucky and I have never been able to understand how they think they deserve to talk smack. I honestly was fine with UK beating us in football though. It was starting to become difficult seeing my family so depressed my whole life. They do not have much to look forward to in Kentucky, so the constast dissapointment around Thanksgiving was becoming a burden on their lives. No wonder they love Makers Mark so much, it is the only thing to pass the time.

Heh heh. I have some cousins from Clarksville that went to UTK and it was never fun watching those UK/UTK football games during our annual Thanksgiving family reunion in Gatlinburg. Wouldn't luck have it that we weren't together when the streak fell.

^^Last year was the first year UK has beat UT in my life. But every year I was in Kentucky Thanksgiving weekend. I am the only UT fan in my family, and about 15-20 UK fans together for the holidays. Always a good time for me.
