New UK uniforms for UT game

My dad and 2 uncles (ex uncles?) went to UF, 2 cousins and an aunt went to UTK, my Grandfather went to med school at Vandy, my in-laws are from Arkansas. Needless to say that there have been some weekends where blood boils.

My big joke to UTK fans is "My great grandfather founded the first Library in Sevier County. I apologize on behalf of my family, because it obviously wasn't a very good Library."

You're going to get a hard lesson in how you are supposed to act while on a rivals board, kid. Maybe you need to brush up on the faqs just a little bit. It is spelled out in front of you that this is a UT board and they're going to be more tolerant of UT fans. That's why it's a UT board.

Your age shouldn't be an excuse for your immaturity and ignorance, but it isn't surprising.

I love the jokes, they make me laugh, honestly. But the "official" colors haven't changed, it's one game. Just clarification.

I actually like these alternate uniforms except for one thing. The players name under the number on the back is just goofy looking.

Pretty sure for the UK home game they where all wearing WE BACK PAT shirts to support Coach Summit. Probably why he didn't wear the orange blazer if i had to guess.

You do understand that the state primarily cares about one thing, basketball. And UK has done pretty well, 7 titles and 13 final fours. Kentucky, as a fan base is pretty thrilled with with its present situation and its past. I think your family is depressed from something else, because if your a UK fan and depressed about UK athletics you have more than a few issues. As for UT football....I'll take a loss by 30 every year for wins in basketball. This year we got lucky and it looks like we dont need to trade.

i have some family friends from north carolina and not one of them acts like they should talk smack even though they have 18 final fours and 5 championships. its just called common sense and courtesy. 2 things lacking severly in the state of kentucky.

UNC talks plenty, but to a UT fan? What for? Tell them your from Durham or a Florida State alum and see what happens. I know some really nice Bama fans that are polite, too.

As for your common sense line, thats hilarious (pot meet kettle)! I love how some UT fans think that as soon as you cross an imaginary line from KY to TN the people immediately become geniuses and really polite all of a sudden. Unless you're a Memphis fan, then you must be dumb and lack common sense, too. Wow, orange tinted glasses to the 10th degree.

i lived in KY i can unfortunately speak from experience.

example: i walk in to work the othe day wearing TN shirt, a guy ive never seen is wearing UK, i walk past and simply say hi as i would anyone else. He starts going on some rampage about how ugly the color orange is and blah blah blah. why was that necessary? where is the filter that tells you what to say and what not to? i personally would never do this to a UK fan, and am understanding every region has their fans, but good god anywhere i went in KY with TN clothes on i was lucky to make it out of there. I go to the store here in TN and see someone with UK clothes on and nobody is making it a big deal. i think that is the point the poster was trying to make that UK fans feel like they should go out of their way to make remarks to opposing fans and be downright rude. Itd be one thing if this was a one time thing as every fan base has their idiots, but this type of thing happens all the time.

your also missing the point, bigeasy the guy you quoted who was referring to UK fans made the post referring to a troll UK fan on this board. This person comes on here and tries to bring up UK any chance that he has, that is where the comments came from. he was saying i dont get why uk fans feel they are entitled to do this kind of thing, like come to a tennessee board and troll. i dont think he was really referring to every UK fan thats out there. FWIW

He said how depressed his UK family is and how he doesnt see how they could talk smack. Which seem awfully strange is both aspects.

I have friends in East TN and I hear the same thing. Its a rivalry and things are going to be said. If you think its just one sided you've got a lot to learn.

as i said i lived in KY and know how many people said things to me, ive lived in knoxville for awhile now and havent seen any UK fans get barraged the way i did. maybe i am just oblivious, the majority of people feel the BBN is pretty obnoxious though, and not just people on here.

While those uniforms look bad on their own, they're significantly worse when examined next to the rest of Nike's set of new uniforms. Seriously, the UNC and Kentucky jerseys are almost indistinguishable. Who thought that was a good idea? Nike continues to be awful.

They talk smack with every win they get over UT in any sport. As in 1 football win in 25+ years they acted as if it was normal for them. Until they can get a 25 game win streak against us in any sport then I do not think they can talk smack. It is pretty easy to talk smack and still be disappointed with your program. Have you looked around here?

Oh and spot on bleedingTNorange about UK fans and what they wear. I do not wear orange much unless UT has a game that day, but when I do all the UK fans always comment on it. Yet I swear some of them have never worn anything that did not have Kentucky on it. I am beginning to wonder if any of them even have clothes that do not involve UK.

How dare UT fans show bias towards their team, we all know other message boards would never do that. Would a thread with just pictures be easier for Kentucky fans to understand?

Orange tinted glasses on a UT message board???? I thought we had already tried explaining that this was a TENNESSEE board? How often does it need to be spelled out for some people?
