Would you complain if Vandy upset SC Thursday night? Would it hurt anybody's feelings if they beat Georgia (which they have done) or Florida once in a blue moon? Its not out of the question, they were 10 seconds short of nailing Georgia last year and had Arky down 18 points in the 4th quarter before blowing it. But come on, would that have been a bad thing if they had won either or both of those game? Hell no it wouldn't.

Bobby Johnson didn't set the world on fire, but he did fix things where SEC coaches couldn't look past his team and count them as an automatic W, and I guarantee you Spurrier isn't taking them for granted. I tend to believe thats a good thing that actually benefits UT.

Listen, I grew up never giving Vandy a second thought and I don't understand some people's near obsession about them. They're Vanderbilt fer cryin out loud, they should never be on equal ground with Tennessee. But if they can be a thorn in the side of the SEC, then I dont see any downside to that....thats all.

BTW, a team that won 11 games and is ranked in the
Top 10 is only favored by 6.5 points, so like it or not they are not being viewed as a pushover.

You ever heard of George Cafego? If not, I'd suggest reading up on him. He had a sincere hatred for Candy and for good reason. If you lived in Nashville and had to deal with their pathetic fanbase I'd bet you any amount of money that you would want to see them fail in anything they do. Their fanbase hates UT and disparages UT any chance they get. Ever ventured over to one of their sites? Their hatred and obsession of UT is borderline weird. They hope UT loses more than their own team wins. Only a truly pathetic loser fanbase is like that. It suits them well.

Last time I checked, Dooley isn't the rah-rah type. If anything, he is bashed for not doing more booster functions and speeches and meeting with fans.

Candy has been a hair from beating numerous SEC teams in the modern era and finding a way to lose almost every time. It's not something that has just suddenly happened.

You think Rodgers going down and their season tanking is silly? Who do they have worth a damn that has any game experience that is backing him up? That's what I thought.

As for UT, we've already seen how that goes. I feel much better with Worley coming in to relieve Bray this year with some game experience and another offseason under his belt. Obviously, your mileage varies.

In our best interest for Candy to field a competitive team? Good Lord. Candy hasn't fielded competitive teams for decades and UT has somehow come out alright. That is one of the more absurd comments that I've ever read on here. Congrats.

The funny thing is though, people are trying to compare him to Pearl. Pearl won and won big. He actually won the SEC East in his first year with a 6' 4" white guy playing power forward. Franklin could only dream of winning the SEC East. It is comical to see the Candy fans gobbling up anything that Franklin says though after years of saying how much they hated Pearl. Ahh, the hypocrisy is stunning.

As for Candy fielding a competitive team actually being a benefit to UT, I'll firmly agree to disagree and laugh at your comical statement. UT has played football for over 100 years and done it quite well with Candy sucking. I'm ok with that.
