New York City

lots and lots of inner city and large diverse populations. Not a coincidence that the large majority of gun violence in this country is overly proportioned to one specific type

Let me ask something profound. Are race relations better off now than they were before say 20 years ago and why?
I remember the 90's, things were good and moving forward. There is a propagandized "hate" fest that can be attributed to a certain political party, which discounts individual responsibility. It is gutter identity politics that has led us to this.

And lets not forget that during Trumps term, income inequality was shrinking. Those are facts Jack.

Teen cashier, 19, is Shot Dead in Cold Blood during her late shift at Harlem Burger King AFTER giving gunman $100 from drawer: Her mom is 'racked with guilt' for making her work nights even though she was scared of 'the 50 homeless people outside'

A teen girl was gunned down and killed during a robbery while working her shift at a Harlem Burger King - with the killer making off with only $100.

Kristal Bayron-Nieves, 19, was working as a cashier at the Burger King at 116th Street and Lexington Avenue in East Harlem around early Sunday morning when an armed robber entered the restaurant at around 1am.

The gunman pistol-whipped a male customer before punching a female manager in the face.

This is the type of crime that pisses me off as much as any. Teenagers shot and killed because they decided to get a job at a fast food place.

I don't know how everyone aren't outraged and angry. We have to put ourselves in the parents shoes. Do we allow our kids to work at these places?

This should be instant death penalty and this will cut this nearly out.

God forbid we try to do an apples to apples comparison.

He makes a point though. In MT for instance the number of homicides went from 34 in '19 to 51 in '20. So 17 people made for a very big uptick in "rate" but c'mon...Chicago (just the city mind you) jumped from 506 to 774 (+268) from '19 to '20. So over the same span just the city of Chicago had nearly 16x more people killed but hey, check out MT's "rate".

Homeless man who shot dead teen cashier in cold blood at Burger King where he used to work had been Released Without Bail in November for Screwdriver Attack: Screamed 'America's gonna burn' during Wide-Eyed Perp-Walk

  • Glynn went on a foul-mouthed rant as he was being led out of the 25th Precinct stationhouse after being booked Friday afternoon
  • 'Why am I guilty?' Glynn shouted through the blue mask covering his face as officers walked him to a waiting police car. 'You know they charge n*****s every day?
  • Detectives attempted to load the handcuffed suspect into the back of the car when he screamed 'F*** you all! and then bellowed, 'America's gonna BURN!'
  • Glynn had one last parting shout for those yelling at him in Spanish before cops could load him in the car: 'Do you wanna start a war between Latinos and n*****s?! Do you wanna start a war?'

A 30-year-old career criminal yelled 'America's gonna burn' after being arrested over the cold-blooded murder of a 19-year-old Burger King cashier during a robbery this week - and the homeless man was free to kill after being released without bail for menacing another man with a screwdriver little more than a month before the murder.

According to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, during the November 30 incident at a homeless shelter where Glynn was staying, he allegedly threatened another man with a screwdriver.

Glynn's rap sheet begins in 2017, where he was charged with criminal mischief for breaking the screen of a slot machine at the Resort World Casino in Queens.

He was then arrested for threatening a 45-year-old woman with a knife in Brooklyn in 2018. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing.

In 2020, Glynn was arrested after assaulting a man in Midtown Manhattan.

He allegedly knocked a man down and continued to beat on him, bruising the victim's eye and knocking a tooth out. The victim was taken to the nearby Bellevue Hospital.

When police arrested Glynn, they found a knife on him and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon.

The 2020 charge was deemed a felony offense since it was the second time he was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

NYPD to replace disbanded anti-crime unit with 'Neighborhood Safety Teams': report

NYPD recorded 1,562 shooting incidents in 2021

The New York Police Department has plans to establish "Neighborhood safety teams" to combat street crime in what is likely an effort to restore an improved version of the department's disbanded anti-crime unit.

The plainclothes anti-crime unit, which sought to prevent gun violence in the city, was disbanded in June 2020 after several high-profile police encounters — including the May 2020 death of George Floyd and the 2014 death of Eric Garner at the hands of an officer assigned to the NYPD task force.

"Neighborhood Safety Teams will be responsible for addressing violent street crimes, specifically targeting perpetrators who carry and use illegal firearms," a memo from NYPD Chief Ken Corey obtained by The New York Post states.

What we know about Times Square subway shove victim Michelle Go

michelle-go-1.jpg

Michelle Go was the woman who was fatally shoved onto the subway tracks by a homeless man at Time Square on Jan. 15, 2022.

The straphanger randomly pushed to her death by an alleged unhinged vagrant was a senior manager at the top consulting firm Deloitte — and volunteered as an advocate for the homeless.

Michelle Go — an MBA graduate of NYU’s prestigious Stern School of Business — lived on the Upper West Side and worked for Deloitte in strategy and operations and mergers and acquisitions, according to her LinkedIn Page.

But the “wonderful,’’ “kind’’ 40-year-old woman was also known for her volunteerism over the past decade with the New York Junior League, where she helped those struggling to get and stay on their feet, including the homeless.

Eric Adams insists subways still safe and there is only ‘perception of fear’

Mayor Eric Adams insisted Sunday that Big Apple subways are safe, arguing there is just a “perception of fear” — but try telling that to riders after Saturday’s fatal random subway push in Times Square.

“New Yorkers are safe on the subway system,” said the mayor, a former NYPD transit cop, during a press conference. “I think it’s about 1.7 percent of the crimes in New York City that occur on the subway system.
