News crew killed on air

Yeah, that video wasn't much of anything really. The guy's gopro cam went blank halfway through the thing. I didn't even see blood. The guy sure thought long and hard about it all once he walked up behind the camera man.

If a first person view of a guy pumping bullets into a screaming woman isn't much of anything to you, change your viewing habits immediately.

The media doesn't have much of a choice imo. It's a murder on live TV. The cat was out of the bag immediately.

We always have a choice. Saying you dont is just an excuse to validate a poor choice.

This is sensationalism, not national news.

I was going to say the same thing.

If a real live human being being murdered, while you watch from the killer's point of view, doesn't disturb you unless you see blood, then you are severely desensitized.

The murders happened live on-air. You want the folks who just watched their coworkers die to just ignore it?

I'm sure it's being sensationalized in some circles, but there's no way to ignore what happened today. It's terrible, but it's news.

The playing of the video and the release of the manefesto is the issue I have. I know they have to report what happened

Innocent people die everyday in this world, in droves.

This was live, I get it, but it is no more troubling or newsworthy than the tons of other deaths you didnt see today.

There is video from the live news feed and the gunmans camera phone on ync.com. It is really creepy how he walks up and just stands there for something like 30s secs then starts shooting.

It's awful. I really wish I hadn't seen it earlier today.

All that guy is getting at is the video isn't gruesome. He never said it wasn't horrible. The video doesn't show much in reality.

I saw the first shot and had to turn away, it made my stomach sick.

My comment was in terms of "gore". Surely you're smart enough to know(I hope) I wasn't discounting the tragedy of it.

I know what you meant and I was probably a little hard on you, but having seen the video, I'm not sure blood could have made it any worse for me personally. The sheer terror in that woman's face and voice and then her realization were just gut wrenching.

So... he's gay. I figure that the sexual orientation would have been heavily reported had the victims been gay rather than the killer. Actually I can't think of another gay killer off hand... seems like an unusual, under-reported twist.

John Wayne Gacy and Jeffrey Dahmer, both gay.

This guy was determined to be seen and be famous for a day.

I really wish media would not flock to these incidents like they do but I guess that will never happen.

To be fair even if the media took a strong stance at avoiding these sorts of topics, this happened LIVE and was unavoidable in that sense. But I agree. If people knew they weren't going to be famous for doing it likely a good margin would just off themselves.

I've seen some pretty awful things, people's neck cut open and left to bleed out and you can hear the "breathing sounds" they make...and this video was still very upsetting to me. I get what this gentleman is saying with regards to the gore factor, but it was no less horrifying. I was upset all day, putting myself in the shoes of their spouse/SO, family members & loved ones and seeing this happen live.
