Lunardi really high on the Vols, actually has Tennessee as the 2nd 4 seed, ahead of both Kentucky & LSU…

He seems to always make all his seedlings based on current resume and not on projections of the future. Neither LSU or UK have a win anywhere close to our win over Arizona. UK has only beaten one currently ranked team - Tennessee. LSU two ranked wins are Tennessee and UK.

Most people have UK & LSU top 4 seeds, not just lunardi, many actually have LSU as a 3 seed even.

Yeah, it just surprises me because their OOC SOS is nothing to write home about. That resume just seems propped up by 2 good wins (both at home), and no bad losses (but a significant recent slide).
They're 10th in the NET ratings and per BPI have the 8th ranked SOR. Also, the committee typically considers injuries, and I'd expect they will in the case of Pinson

While their OOC schedule doesn't seem too impressive, Texas State, Liberty, Belmont, Ohio, and Louisiana Tech all have very good records and several are leading their conference. You also add Wake Forest.

I don’t disagree necessarily, was just saying that many still have them there.

If this is around where we stand at this point in the season, I’m happy with it. Our upcoming schedule sets us up to make a leap in those projections. I know none of it is set in stone but the back half of the schedule always holds more weight (IDC what they say, it does). Texas, UK, and Auburn are the only games that feel like a possible loss. The rest are very very winnable games. If we steal a game from one of the 3 teams above, it’ll give us some wiggle room but it won’t be handed to us.

Recency bias is definitely a thingie…

TeamRankings has their OOC SOS at #48, nationally. Not embarrassing by any means, but ours is 6th, for example. Bama is 5th.

Now, LSU does have a total SOS of #4, nationally, which I suspect is buoyed by early conference games against Tennessee (twice), Auburn, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida.

Tennessee's overall SOS is #2, nationally. Bama is #3.

And true, LSU played and beat some good mid-majors like the ones mentioned above, but as I said before, their SOS and NCAAT resume seems to be propped up by two good wins and four losses to good teams, all of which are in-conference. Just a little surprised to see that keep them on the 3 line.

Watching these SEC games tonight, Bama losing @ Georgia, Auburn barely winning @ Missouri, Mississippi State and UK in OT…there’s not any gimmies in conference play, you better bring it every night and no win should be taken for granted no matter the margin of victory.
Two KY tweaked ankles during the game ... brought MS back into the game. (not to mention the absence of Washington)
(Those two ankles are going to be sore and tender for a while and it will be interesting to see how those two guys look going forward. If they were on our team ... I would have some serious concerns about the ankle stability and flex for the next few weeks. But what do I know!!!)
I will also opine that I thought the referees were being favorable to Kentucky on the calling of fouls. Or maybe I should say ... no calls when the guard put his elbow into the chest of the MS player or when the center puts his elbow on the neck of the MS player.
KY really had a so-so night ... and KY players played like they could step on the gas and spurt past their 'less talented' opponent ... any time they wanted.
If KY plays like that against more talented opponents - they will get beat.
MS played about the best game they could have played on the road.

I dont check my mentions. Let's see where the Vols end up. I also said said they couldn't put top teams from conferences together, I told you I expected those others to have much better records.
Obviously it’s about where they end up, but you posted Lunardi’s seed list a couple weeks ago cause Vols weren’t in it and it didn’t have 4 SEC teams in Top 4 lines so you shared ot as evidence, I was just sharing his most recent update since Vols are in it and he has 4 SEC teams in Top 4 lines.
