From my untrained perspective, we’re at our best in the half court when the ball flows through Fulky opposed to our guards making their own shots. CRB comments the same to the media. Come tourney play, we’re going to want him 25+ a game. Hope he can do it. JMO
We’re at our best when the ball moves quickly, doesn’t stick, it does stick with Fulk sometimes…when Chandler breaks things down or Fulk is quick with his moves/pass we are good.

Weren’t you always saying Barnes had to play BHH big minutes for this team to be good? They’ve gone on this win streak with BHH playing just the same as he has been all year for the most part.
Last night was the first night in the last 3 or 4 games BHH hasn't been close to 20 minutes. Game flow just didn't allow it. I'm interested to see how many he gets Saturday against TX. His minutes crept up and the winning streak started.

I know you’re going to disagree so I won’t go on a back and forth, just gonna say this…there’s a reason nobody else that is good is playing 11/12 guys come February. Early on it’s fine, but you need to find as much cohesion and consistency as you can among your main rotation and not plan for a fluke occurrence, that’s what preseason and early games are for…you’re much more likely to get through NCAAT without injuries/sickness than to have someone held out, get your main guys ready and roll.

The reason can easily be that there is a clear delineation in talent. TN’s goes 14 players deep.

Huh? He’s been closer to 10 minutes than 20 in every one of those games, in the last 3 games (win streak) he’s averaging 10mpg.

Not at all. I said many times this roster was a top 10 or better roster, and people asked me who? The talent is on this team.
It’s not, no matter how many times you say it…you linked a NBA Mock with BHH not even projected to be drafted. Chandler is falling down boards, nobody else on the roster at this point is considered a NBA lock, so 1 player? That’s not a Top 10 talent roster my man.

Seemed like I saw more than that on a few box scores. Still a few more minutes and he wasn't totally lost. Gave others a chance for a rest, he did his job.
In his defense, he doesn’t get much chance to do anything on offense. He works to get position, but we don’t look to get him the ball, which is odd since he may be our most offensively talented and skilled big man. All of his offense comes opportunistically off of loose balls and ORebs. That has to be frustrating and likely bleeds over into concentration lapses elsewhere.

There haven’t been a ton of opportunities but in the last 3 games I feel like we’ve gave it to him 3-4 times and he’s either turned it over or thrown up and ugly shot, seems 1 time his shot got stiffed too. He’s 1/5 with 2 turnovers in last 3 games fwiw.

Whenever we get a little win streak going I always think about the stat I heard where there hasn’t been a national champion since Michigan St in 2000 that hasn’t had at least 1 7-game streak during the season. As an indication the team is capable/consistent enough to string wins together. Maybe we can get 4 more here. Or maybe we can be the first since Michigan st not to do it :)

If we're going to win 7 in a row, this is the stretch to do it. We've got a 3 game streak going and the next 4 are @Texas, TAMU, @USC, @Miss State.

Not an easy stretch by any measurement, but probably the most manageable 4 game stretch you can hope for to get some wins.

If this is around where we stand at this point in the season, I’m happy with it. Our upcoming schedule sets us up to make a leap in those projections. I know none of it is set in stone but the back half of the schedule always holds more weight (IDC what they say, it does). Texas, UK, and Auburn are the only games that feel like a possible loss. The rest are very very winnable games. If we steal a game from one of the 3 teams above, it’ll give us some wiggle room but it won’t be handed to us.
I get what you are saying that we will be favored a lot the rest of the way, but every game is a possible loss. It's conference play. Georgia has a couple of decent wins and they are clearly the worst team on the schedule.

Which is where my frustrations with Barnes were. This team is much better than it was playing. It has the build at least of a team that could make a deep run. 2 good guards, 3 point shooting. Good enough big. A decent few off the bench to spell the starters. An elite defender or two that can shut other teams best player down or at least slow them down.
"Good enough bigs" That's my concern. Do we? Fulky needs to get back at least close to where he used to be. Uros had a nice stretch there, but honestly, I still don't trust him. ON.....well I want say what I'm thinking just to be nice.

5 attempts in 31 minutes across three games isn't what I'd call opportunity, though.

Nkamhoua is 5/14 with 5 turnovers in last 3 games, too, but he's gotten twice the minutes.

BHH, when he receives 15 mpg (7 games) is averaging 7.7 ppg on 25/47 (53.2%).
When he plays less than 15 minutes (12 games) is averaging 1.8 ppg on 9/20 (45%).

Just hard to get in any groove and get any opportunity when you don't play. And when we do play him in such limited minutes (less than 15), we don't utilize him, he loses interest, and hits the bench. Probably a maturity issue with him, but it's understandable that he's frustrated.
