We shot 40% and still won handily against a Top 5 team. Some of you guys are the gift that can’t stop giving (such utterly ridiculous comments).Florida
Missouri
@ Oklahoma
@ Kentucky
Vanderbilt
@ Texas A&M
If we can’t learn how to shoot the freaking ball soon, we may wind up with double digit regular season losses. Just pathetic!
I tell you what, I know we lost that Auburn game but my goodness did we play them tough. Auburn is clearly the best team in the country. They are mowing through the SEC and they are especially good at home yet we held them to 53 points and should’ve won the game. I know it’s tough to see at times but this team is really special. I truly believe we will make a run in March that at least equals last year. Our defense is insane. To me it’s the best we’ve had under Barnes and that’s saying something. Our offense is shaky at times but we’re better than the offense on some of the other top defensive teams Barnes had. Maybe I’m wrong but a couple lumps in January and February are ok as long as we learn from them. I believe we will.We shot 40% and still won handily against a Top 5 team. I don’t know if there is any direct correlation to mid week rather than weekend, but do remember as a player it being easier(at times) to get up for games with a few distractions rather than gym/field, class then apartment norm. Also, sometimes the “norm” is more distracting than anything. Of course they shot that theory to pieces yesterday, but in general I think having a few out of the ordinary distractions like travel, game start times and even eating at different places can serve as a space eater for the brain.I have noticed a pattern over the last few weeks. Most of not all of our losses have occurred on Tuesday night. I don't know if it is a conditioning issue, but that one day's extra rest usually results in Saturday wins after a loss on Tuesday.
There may be an exception, but I know at least two if not more of our losses were on Tuesday night. I refer to them as "trap" games.
This year, there are really no trap games. Literally, every game can wind up being a battle. I can’t imagine any coach wanting to play at winless South Carolina. So much talent from top to bottom.Mizzou beat UF at UF. Tuesday’s got trap game written all over it if we don’t come in hungry. I understand they’re probably too good to be thought of as a trap, but they are still kinda flying under the radar to some extent and we’re coming down off an emotional high, so there are warning signs we’d better heed is all I’m saying.
