What would you say if I said he is being over-hyped and that I'd rather pass on him?

I'd call you crazy!! Clear is an athletic freak! The kid can play multiple positions for us ( TE, OT, DE, DT ). As long has he stays out of trouble & works his butt off then he will be in the League one day.

It is really just a question. I see scout and rivals like him but espnu has him poorly ranked. Plus we know how Warren and Douglas turned out.

Why is he ranked at 45 on espnu?
Good work bro, you should pass that info along to Alabama and Florida just to make sure they don't waste a scholly offer on him either. I want the SEC as competetive as possible.

Thanks bro. Now take a deep breath. I pick JMo's brain as much as I can. It gets old asking him the same question. Just mixin it up.

Haha, I guess people live in denial of that portion of their life. Not a bad philosophy, just saying.

Not in denial, he just took a portion of the quote instead of the whole thing. Sometimes people just cant see the whole picture.

Using Douglas as an example doesn't help your position. Douglas was a stud. He just happens to be an idiot.

Agreed. If I'm given the choice between Richardson or Clear, I'd take Clear in fact. Hopefully we get both though.

Not working out and not being good are two different things. Clear is good. Douglas was/is good.

Warren was/is a stud too. I know the difference but it still seems like you're splitting hairs. They both fall in the same category of "should've gotten someone else." He probably will work out wherever he goes but it makes for a reasonable discussion.

Splitting hairs is what I do best. Regarding the "should've gotten someone else" comment, hindsight is 20-20. No reason to say that Clear won't work out just because two other instate former TE's didn't.

I don't know about that. To say that there is more excitement around the program right now than over the last two years is a stretch. I think that there was definitely more excitement surrounding the program for most of last year, not just recruiting (though, recruiting did stand out as far as excitement goes).

We took a punch in the gut when Kiffin left and I don't think that the excitement will be back up there for a while because most people are still trying to get back on their feet (and our current record doesn't help you jump back up).

Dooley is doing some good things - I hope the excitement continues to build.

That is a reason in itself
