Next football transfer?

Selfish, IMO. I want kids who can play and get on the field to stay. If some kids are going to be buried on the depth chart, then let them go to a place where they can play. You are only given 5 years to get 4 in, so I don't want them to waste it.

Let me turn this around, if you were at your job and you knew that there was no way you were ever moving up the ladder because the boss has already tabbed other people as his co assistants or whatev, you telling me you would stay because you love the company? Some might stay because they do like the company, but what about those who want to one day become managers? Should they stay?

Same for the players, some came to UT because they grew up loving the Vols. Those players will and should stay. However, some kids came to UT because it was their best option and they wanted to PLAY in the best conference. Well, if those kids aren't good enough to PLAY, then let then transfer to another team/ opportunity (emphasis on opportunity).

very well said

very, very likely to contain some names that most would not come up with.

we have 83 kids (counting the 18 coming in this summer) on scholarship.

13 are seniors.

that leaves 15 openings for the 2015 signing class.

word is Swafford is going on scholarship this fall.

that would leave only 14 available scholarships.

to get to 25 signees, will require 11 players from returning classes to leave. That might be a record number of attrition for one year.

Probably one of the QB's. I'd guess Peterman, and a lot of frustration from Ferg. I don't think they both transfer, but I definitely think one of them does.

Nope. Folks just like to ride him because of the Florida game, but the gator defense was playing like the best in the NCAA that week. Plus, he was/is trying to get adjusted to the speed of the game.

He has a better arm than Worley, and has the mobility we want in this offense. Plus, with all the injuries last year, we're going to need all hands on deck this year.

Nathan will likely never play another down as QB for the Vols. Just the way it is and as it should be.

Butch Jones (and many of us) expect more transfers before fall camp. Who are the next Vols to seek "greener" pastures?

My guess is Danny O Brien. The reason that I say that is that in the past 25 years, I can only remember about 5 players from the north who actually played for 4 seasons.
Most of them leave.

I only remember Peerless Price, Andy McC. & Munoz as the only northern players who stayed all 4 years.

Aldon Hill is the latest northerner to leave the program early.....

Some threads anoint Ferg as the next Manning while others think he'll transfer out. Gotta love Volnation.

Yep and that's the difference of Notherner's versus a Yankee, the Yankees don't go home!

Those Michigan & Ohio guys leave.

What was the name of the receiver from Michigan whom Dooley gave a hard time to when he wanted to transfer to possibly go to Michigan State?

Peterman has a stronger arm than any of the other QB's he also has better mobility....much better running the ball.
Don't count him out at all:lolabove:

No, that's just not true. Better mobility than Dobbs? No. Stronger arm than Ferguson? Not according to every single person or reporter I've ever heard from who's seen the 4 QBs perform in person. He appears to be 4th string right now for a reason. The disaster at Florida is certainly one reason.....and his spring practice performance appears to be the other.

Careful.. you will get BBQ by some posters for telling the truth..

It's not a matter of telling the truth. Half the names brought up in this thread are likely to transfer, and anybody keeping up with TN football knows that.

Nothing good comes out of gossiping about which players suck, especially when you consider that recruits and their families read this site and use it as an initial impression for the fan base.

Plus, half the people on this board don't know the first thing about football, and shouldn't be taken remotely serious anyways.

Where's your evidence that Peterman will play QB again at UT? Besides the other 3 QBs ahead of him getting injured?Waiting.
Where is your evidence he won't? It's your assertion. I don't have to show proof. You do. You're the one making stupid, unfounded statements...and selling it as fact.

He was the Offensive MVP in the state of Florida, coming out of HS. Butch recruited him. I saw him at the public practice in Neyland, last August. He looked really good then. Better than Worley. It's folks like you that try to base his worth on the Florida game. Worley looked like poo against Oregon the week before, and he looked just as bad when he went in against Florida.

It's a stupid knee-jerk reaction to state matter-of-factly that he's done. Far from it.
