I wish some vol fans would go for greener pastures. Hoping for someone to transfer who wanted to be a vol in the first place is not cool.
Where is your evidence he won't? It's your assertion. I don't have to show proof. You do. You're the one making stupid, unfounded statements...and selling it as fact.
He was the Offensive MVP in the state of Florida, coming out of HS. Butch recruited him. I saw him at the public practice in Neyland, last August. He looked really good then. Better than Worley. It's folks like you that try to base his worth on the Florida game. Worley looked like poo against Oregon the week before, and he looked just as bad when he went in against Florida.
It's a stupid knee-jerk reaction to state matter-of-factly that he's done. Far from it.
You are just going by heresay. If Ferguson has a better arm, it ain't by much. Watch the difference between the velocity on the ball when Peterman and Worley both release the ball at exactly the same time, at the 2:03 mark in this video:No, that's just not true. Better mobility than Dobbs? No. Stronger arm than Ferguson? Not according to every single person or reporter I've ever heard from who's seen the 4 QBs perform in person. He appears to be 4th string right now for a reason. The disaster at Florida is certainly one reason.....and his spring practice performance appears to be the other.
Selfish, IMO. I want kids who can play and get on the field to stay. If some kids are going to be buried on the depth chart, then let them go to a place where they can play. You are only given 5 years to get 4 in, so I don't want them to waste it.
Let me turn this around, if you were at your job and you knew that there was no way you were ever moving up the ladder because the boss has already tabbed other people as his co assistants or whatev, you telling me you would stay because you love the company? Some might stay because they do like the company, but what about those who want to one day become managers? Should they stay?
Same for the players, some came to UT because they grew up loving the Vols. Those players will and should stay. However, some kids came to UT because it was their best option and they wanted to PLAY in the best conference. Well, if those kids aren't good enough to PLAY, then let them transfer to another team/ opportunity (emphasis on opportunity).

And how anyone would ever think that is beyond me. No one had seen him play until about a week ago lol
Christian Harris left. Clark on the DL. We don't know about Pig. Harris and Clark were probably recruited over. Pig has personal issues. Butch is trying to build quality depth. I don't wish for anyone that wants to be a VFL to be forced out, but some guys are going to leave for more p.t., to be closer to home, ect. The point of the thread was to find out if anyone knew who may be considering a move. I would especially like to see guys like Bowles stay. He is from all accounts, a great teammate. I don't see all 4 QB's staying. That is reality. I would guess from a PT stand point that a guy like LaTroy Lewis might be a candidate.
My guess is Danny O Brien. The reason that I say that is that in the past 25 years, I can only remember about 5 players from the north who actually played for 4 seasons.
Most of them leave.
I only remember Peerless Price, Andy McC. & Munoz as the only northern players who stayed all 4 years.
Aldon Hill is the latest northerner to leave the program early.....
You're mixing my words with someone elses, chief. I didn't say he had the strongest arm, nor the most mobile. I said he had A STRONG arm and was ALSO mobile. You claim he has the strongest arm and best mobility of the 4 QBs....you claim that Worley looked awful the second half vs Florida .... and I'm the one making stupid, unfounded statements?
Peterman's a good kid, obviously a resilient hard worker. He had a disastrous game vs Florida where he looked completely lost. He was injured and we didn't see him again. Fast forward to this Spring and there he is, doing fine but appearing from all reports to be the 4th QB. That's where I'm getting my information from.
You clearly have some emotional attachment to the kid. I don't. I wish him well, perhaps he gets a chance to redeem himself at UT at some point but the odds are against that. As it stands today, by virtually all accounts, Worley leads to be the starter, followed by Dobbs and Ferguson, with Peterman bringing up the rear. You don't want to see or acknowledge that then that's on you.
Dobbs stays because of the degree that he is seeking. To him, his degree is 1st and football is 2nd in the whole scheme of life.
Ferguson loves Tennessee. Has for a long time. He won't transfer either.
The best case scenerio for the q.b. situation is for (1) Worley to win the job. This way we don't have a starting q.b. next off season because Worley will graduate. This will help to attract Gentry to us. " The q.b. competition is truly open for the 2015 season, so you can possibly earn a starting q.b. position at U.T. your freshman season Gentry"
Keep Dobbs & Fergy as solid back ups......In the event that Gentry struggles early or of an injury...
