Next year any better?

We are still two years out. We always play a tough schedule. We are on an upward movement. Every year CBJ and Staff is here always expect things to get better.
Academics improved, Discipline improved, Culture changing. Players playing with purpose and getting better. Playing as a team has improved.

We were so bad you can't expect but to get better.

It seems as though you are writing off this season by looking ahead only after the second game.

If you have to ask this question at this point, I ask you this, will you as a fan improve next year. Just open up your eyes and look around...Don't take this for grant...Even if we went 15-0 this year the answer would be yes we will be better.

I can see Khalil having a Clowney affect on UT's defense making everyone around him better. He's a special talent.

What's the possibility Maggit moves to MLB next season to replace AJ? Maggit's leadership has been repeatedly mentioned by the coaches.

Hopefully with another year the O-line will be improved. Can't make chicken salad out of chicken shat though. Guess we'll see how they develop this season before we know what the ceiling is for the current O-linemen.

I think Maggit will continue to grow in his role of leader and guy who roams from hand in the dirt to standing up. Then add an even nastier Maybin and a lights out Sutton. By the time you bring in Khalil and very possibly Tuttle I'm telling you this D will be siiiiiick. I think for the next 2 years this team will hang it's hat on defense. Rightfully so.

We lose the following in 2014

Coleman DB- We will upgrade
Johnson LM- Hard to replace
Lane RB- Replacement in place
Worley QB- Hard to replace
D Young-KO-We will upgrade

Also got to remember this class 2015 will bring in yet more speed vs the departing overall JR and Sr classes..

Good times ahead!

It's sad that the list is so small...

But, you can see the positive side to that too.

I am very confident we beat UGA next season. Gurley is gone and they will have a brand new QB. They are not going to be at the level they are now.

Bama will also have a brand new QB, and I already seem them not being quite as dominant as they have been.

We get Arkansas next year at home....that should be a W.

USC is not going to be what they have been....personally I will be disappointed if we aren't in that game this year.

I think Team #118 can finish 7-5 and lay a solid foundation. But I truly believe Team #119 can be an 8-4 or 9-3 team and catapult us to an amazing 2016. I am very excited about this year and the future!

What about Von? Curt?

Curt especially. I'm expecting him to have more and more of an impact the further we get into the season. It's going to take him time to recover mentally.

Hurd and Kamara next year is what I'm excited about!

Probably rotate 3 to 4 RB's next year with Paulik and Scott...

The o-line can't be any worse next year.

The OL is a work in progress and not nearly as bad as some of you seem to think. As Jones mentioned after USU, it only takes one guy not getting an assignment for a play to break down but there were MANY good things happening even on those plays. Losing Gilliam hurt. But it probably makes the development of the other guys that much more urgent.

Are these guys ready for OU? Maybe not. But each thing they correct will make them exponentially better on the whole. The curve for young players is always the steepest. Yes. Its the most difficult change but it is also the change with the most reward.

I'm not saying this year is over or anything like that, but I see a lot of people saying next year we will be better. Will we really? I know more recruits more depth, more speed, more time in the system etc. My thoughts are we are losing our starting quarterback on offense in Worley as well as our quarterback on defense in AJ Johnson. How do we handle losing that much leadership and take a step forward? I know I'll probably get negavol'd and my house and tailgating trailer burned down but I think next year will be much like this year at best. 2016 will be our year. That is all. Thoughts?

We have some BEASTS coming in next year. OL and DL will be strengths with guys like Kahlil Mckenzie and Jack Jones. They will bring that "nasty" attitude we have been missing for a long time. LB will not be a concern even with losing AJ when you have JRM, Curt, and and Chris returning. Secondary will be even better next year. We are already set at skill positions and get Williams and Kamara coming in so we will be dominate in that area. Losing Worley will not be a huge loss because our receivers are going to be so open it won't matter much who the QB is. We will win the East next year. Not sure if that means anything but we all know once you get to Atlanta anything can happen.

AJ will be missed greatly, and Worley is yet to be determined. Everyone else, not so much.

If 2016 is going to be our year to return to being a major factor in the SEC we should be much better next year. The process has to happen in steps. This year we win 6 or 7, next year needs to be at least 8 and the following year we should be able to compete for 10+ wins. As long as we do this we should be able to keep the recruiting momentum going as we erase the Dooley era from our roster. The biggest question mark will be the quarterback next year. I'm not sure Peterman or Dobbs are the answer and going with a freshman could be costly at times, but could pay off later. Losing AJ is big, but I think we can at least come up with someone that can be an effective MLB, but i'm not yet sure at QB. I'm really hoping that Peterman steps up his game and starts his junior and senior years then let an experienced Dobbs and Dormady fight it out. Playing freshmen and sophomores needs to become an exception for only the stand out guys.

What about Von? Curt?

Von will be 50/50 IMO. Depends on injury. Curt...Could see him coming back...

I think CBJ is building a Team, Culture and I could easily see both coming back to further change the Culture.

We better have 8 wins next season, or Butch Jones will begin to feel his seat growing warm.

Most Fans need to look beyond the W/L records and have patience.

I don't think he will feel any heat if we don't win 8. This team may only win 5 this year but the product on the field is light years ahead of the previous teams that had 5-7 records. If we are not winning in year 5 then yes the heat will occur but not at year 3.

Are you trolling? Cause if you are I bought into it.

Yes, 2016 could be the magic year, but, 2015, will be a good one too. Man, everybody has another year and be much better. We have some killer D-line and O-line coming in that will shake some trees. You like Hurd? Wait till Kimara gets here. He is for real. The question is QB. I like Worley, but, he would not get us to the SECC, and ultimately a NCAAC. Whichever one comes out on top, i.e., Dobbs, Peterman, Dormady, and possibly Jennings, will do fine. I'm not burning nothing! :)
