Next year any better?

I agree that next year will be tough to be better. History shows that it's really hard to repeat as National Champions.

Start with D, D line: Everybody is back on the line except Williams. We could get MacKenzie, Picou AND Tuttle. We will be much better, perhaps dominant.

LB: we lose AJ but everyone else is back, including some very talented freshmen, who will be sophs. Throw in Cherry and Austin Smith, perhaps Sapp.

Sec: everyone is back except Coleman and perhaps Randolph. I believe that Randolph comes back. If we get Martin, the JUCO CB, we could be fantastic. Kelly, Randolph or O'Neil or Mcdowell or Gaulden, Berry....we will be set at S, and our corners will be seasoned. Sutton will be an AA, and Williams, Moseley, Berry, Payne...or again, Martin, and we are set at CB.

The D could be awesome next year.

On O, we will be stacked at TB with Hurd, Scott, and Kamara, TE as well. Then you have WR, which should be the best in the country. The line will be better. Everybody who is playing now will be back, plus Stewart, Jones, Hall and Bouleware. Any one of these freshmen could provide serious help. We may still be a little weak at one tackle position, but maybe not.

QB will be the greatest concern, but I feel that the staff will get one of them up to speed. If we have a capable QB, we win 8, easily, a good QB and 10 is possible.

Last time I checked we've played two games and don't really know how good we are this season yet. That kind of makes it hard to gauge how next season will turn out.

I'm not saying this year is over or anything like that, but I see a lot of people saying next year we will be better. Will we really? I know more recruits more depth, more speed, more time in the system etc. My thoughts are we are losing our starting quarterback on offense in Worley as well as our quarterback on defense in AJ Johnson. How do we handle losing that much leadership and take a step forward? I know I'll probably get negavol'd and my house and tailgating trailer burned down but I think next year will be much like this year at best. 2016 will be our year. That is all. Thoughts?

need line work and a Qb. it is up to jones. he needs 8 wins in 15 or we need to start looking again.

I wish that were the case but I personally see 6 to 7 wins 6 more than likely not including the bowl win. I think 2016 is our year. 8-9 wins plus bowl win.

Great analysis here. You know what really excites me, is to see so many kids from Tennessee and Vol legacies on the team. I mean, you can already tell this season (it's early I know -- knock on wood). But you can tell the team plays with so much pride, and they look to be having fun out there. I can't wait for Saturday against OK to see how the young guys respond. Really anxious for next year's class to get here! Go Vols!

What makes you think OU will have a new QB in 2015?

So he's back huh in 2015? I think OU will be 11-1 this season. They'll slip up against somebody(probably either Baylor or Oklahoma St). You're the first Sooner I've seen on here.

Remove Hall from that list, he may be out for a very long time. Our OL will still be struggling next year. Otherwise, I agree.

I disagree the offensive line will be better in 2015 because of the game experience they will pick up.

Considering how Utah State struggled against the might Bengals of Idaho State (offense only scored 26 points, and heisman candidate Chuckie threw for 116 yds and a pick) we have no way of knowing how good we are this year. This week should really let us know where our program is and what direction we are headed.
