scotty isnt going pro after this season he will be here for at least another year... we will miss maze, chism, and jp badly next year... you cant expect next year to be a championship year with the young guys getting alot of mins.. and yes i know someone is going to say "look at UK" but im just saying you cant put that kinda pressure on a freshman..

I don't think JP is as bad as some make him out to be. He plays hard and while he makes some stupid mistakes at bad times, he usually can be counted upon to get some points and some rebounds. Just mho though.

Is it his terrible free throw shooting or his ability to get technical fouls that will be missed?

JP's plus/minus stat this season must be a combined -1,500. if you dont know what a plus minus stat is, it is a player like JP princes' worst nightmare. its a very important stat in the nba, another reason he wont be drafted any time soon

i mean seriously i dont see whats so funny about that because i have seen numerous mock drafts have him as a mid to late first round pick...

ESPN has Hopson as the 84th-ranked prospect and there are something like 60 picks in the draft FTR...

Ah, lovely, another positive thread devolving into a bash fest against a UT player. I swear, some of you must beat your kids when they get a B+. Unreal.

I hate to say it, but the history of UT basketball is such that any team that can get over 20 wins is a candidate as "one of the best" in the program's history.

Bruce Pearl probably already has coached four of the 10 best Tennessee teams of all time in just five seasons. including the best team in school history.

When you consider the talent that's being brought in from this years recruiting class and the talent that this team has right now I don't know if there is any team in the SEC that will have more talent than we do and Tobias Harris is really the only freshman that I see starting next year, McRae could start as well but he needs to get bigger, he may not have much of an offensive game but I really like how Melvin Goins has come along.

He's the best slasher on the team, by far actually. He drives and creates baskets for everyone else. He does the little things. Seriously, pay attention to what's happening this year and watch what happens next year.

When they have all the resources available to make an A, why would you accept a B?

If our freshman live up to the hype and hopson develops into a star then it will be a great year, if not.... then it will be bad.

Pearl didn't coach the best team in school history.

Objectively, based on results, Pearl has coached some of the best teams in UT bball history. You could also argue that Jerry Green coached one of the best in UT bball history based on results. Until we reach an Elite Eight and/or Final Four, I don't think CBP has any claim to the very best team in school history.

Pearl has had some of the best teams and has had the best results, but the best team was the Ernie - Bernie Show. Tough to compare because tourney format was different and season much shorter.

I've paid plenty of attention. He's terrible.

why? Without some serious recruiting, Bledsoe, Liggins, Miller and Orton are hardly intimidating.

It's a bit hard to tell because so much of the production is gobbled up by the three amigos. I'd take any or all of the three on next year's squad in Knoxville, though.

agreed. If they can get Liggins' head squared away, and it appears they are, he's a legit ballplayer. Miller always has been, but not a stud. Kid from OK City, name escapes me, is probably a player.
