Neyland Stadium to be “preserved” by Pilot

I have a great suggestion! How about giving fans who sit on bleachers a little more room! Tired of people putting their knees in my back and being shoe horned over a number on a bleacher.

Putting Pilot ads all over the field and stadium seems an awful lot like taking over the venue to me, but you do you.
Oh look. Someone twisting the narrative and being overly dramatic to justify their stodginess.
It’s the name, “pilot” in two places on a massive field. That hardly seems like “all over the field”, and I’m certain the stadium won’t have it “all over” either, but you do you and make things up to be mad about.

Tennessee made this move to solidify their NIL dollars for the future. They now have a cash cow which will help obtain the best players, so don’t complain everyone loves a winner especially Vol Nation. The downside is that a person working hard day to day making 60 grand a year will never be able to set foot in Neyland Stadium unless someone gives them a ticket. I can remember when 60 bucks was high for a UT ticket,
now you will be lucky to park for 60. Go Vols!
Unfortunately this one hit way too close to home lol. Haven't been able to a home game against a P5 school since South Carolina in 2021 I think. It was cheaper to travel to New Orleans/Baton Rouge and stay a couple days than go to the Florida game 20 mins down the road in 2022.

You would have to tear it down and rebuild it to make it comfortable. I believe DeerPark said years ago that UT looked at replacing the bleachers with seats and it would reduce the capacity to about 79-80K.

Raymond James Stadium in Tampa has about the same number of rows on the sidelines and it seats about 65K. If you take it around both end zones, it would be about 80K.

That would almost certainly mean having less seats.

Suggesting Neyland have less seats might be even less popular than renaming it.

I agree.

College football is changing into something we’ve never seen, whether we like it or not. At some point, power 5 teams will have to accept that their donors can’t keep up with the Jones’s. We as fans are going to have to accept that we can’t keep up with the big spenders, also.

Ok, please don’t take this post as fat shaming because I’m no skinny minny myself.
But I will confess to being in Neyland with several empty seats around me and watching everyone coming up the stairs toward my aisle like a hawk thinking…oh please dont let a really large Marge/Marvin sit next to me.
im a little claustrophobic anyway. So somebody being right on top of me is a little upsetting.

Wait, hold the damn phone! Did I see a Huepel quote in this thread where he said he is the "caretaker" of the program?!? Did that just sllip by everybody??

Jimmy got canned.

I'm still pretty certain Jimmy is chairman of the board at Pilot. I don't know how I would miss the news he was canned, as you say.

Donde and Danny knocked this one out of the park. Again.

They are visionaries.

The real question is how much is it gonna cost us at the ticket office? I gotta admit....if I need gasoline and there is an ExxonMobil in front of me and a Pilot Flying J further down the road, I'm intentionally going to Pilot Flying J.

GBO!
