NFL or Bust??

Eric, I don't know how many times or ways we can say it:

Character is not unimportant - but neither is it preeminent. Talent is not the only consideration - but its first, and most important.

Character is a "want" - talent is a NECESSITY.

The larger allegation being levied against you is that you're using the whole "character over talent" argument as little more than a self-serving means of explaining Dooley's underwhelming recruiting efforts thus far in the 2011 class.

So, are you saying that all the kids he's got committed right now aren't talented?? How did you come to this conclusion?? What evaluating process did you use??

If youre not satisfied with our recruiting so far, then you aren't paying enough attention. He is making Lane Kiffin's recruiting staff look like rookies.

Only 3 stars stay out of trouble.

Not true, but nice try at a spin.

We want the Chris Brown type players that develop into great players, but try to stay away from the Chris Donald type players who are overhyped and never produce. It's a balance, but I like Dooley's preference.

Put it this way....at the start of 2008, you only have one roster spot...who do you give a scholarship to between Chris Donald and Nick Reveiz?

Chris Brown got busted for shoplifting as a freshman.

So it's okay to keep a guy on the team that has a misdemeanor on his record but you want to let JJ loose even after all his charges were dropped?

JJ has had many issues that haven't been released by KNS or UT. Not the same comparison. I think you could probably say it's more like Naz Oliver.

According to eric, Dooley Do Right is here to save Tennessee football from petty criminals.

I hope he does. Has no place on the team at this point. These players who are being dumb are going to cost their teammates and coaches more than themselves. You guys want to win right?? So, you shouldn't want kids that get in trouble and do the right things when not being looked at.

When the Hell was Chris Brown a great player?

Everyone makes mistakes. College kids do stupid things. As long as they aren't killing people, let them take their punishment on the chin and give them a second chance to right the ship.

Yet, he learned and corrected his ways. One of Fulmer's success stories at the end of his tenure really.

Be consistent please.

No criminals or criminals get a second chance?

I don't disagree, as long as the second chance is the last. Setting an example for 80 other guys is important.

LOL... You have a way with words, TenD. That's a certainty.

I'd much rather have a team full of 3 stars that lay it on the line, than a team full of 4 and 5 stars that only come to play half the time. The 3 stars will always prevail in this scenario.

This is all fine if this scenario exits, but most 4 & 5 stars get those ratings because they lay it on the line. Unless you as a recruiter are a poor judge of character, the scenario you present shouldn't exist.

I sifted through 10 pages of this "stuff" to finally realize that HAT is sarcastic, Eric just wants to BELIEVE, and a few other folks like to take jabs at who ever is losing the fight.
Poor...........

Who ever is losing the fight is losing because they are wrong in their assertions, they deserve to take jabs, it is the way this place works.
