NFL owners considering adding resolution to improve teams draft position if they hire a minority coach/GM.

What if a team hires a gay African American female with multiple personality disorder who identities as Hispanic/Asian/Pacific Islander/Native American/Martian and Eggplant, would they receive the number 1 thru15th selections in the next draft?

I really don’t think this country is as racist as some want it to be. I’m not saying there aren’t racist people, but there always will be. Right now this constant brow beating of manufactured racism is creating a lot more divisiveness in our culture than doing anything to help.

First world problems is what we have way more than racist problems . It has always amazed me that all the POC that are willing to risk everything just to come to such a racist country 24/7 to live .

It’s not nearly as racist as the race baiters want it to be. They continuously have to make situations racist that have nothing to do with race and the black guy that doesn’t get the job or promotion blames it on Billy Bob living in a trailer park in Podunk, AL.

They had the second best record in the league before it was stopped.

And? Probably has more to do with AD than Lebron who can’t do much on his own or make anyone around him better. A 260lb crybaby that has one move trying to run people over them cries if he’s touched. It’s not like they were a lock to win the west.

It's almost a guarantee theres at least 1 Donald Sterling who owns an NFL team. I have zero doubt that at least 1 or 2 of those rich old white dudes is a racist. I do think black coaches should get more opportunities, however, I think doing it this way is just idiotic. Bill Belicheck is about to have an all black staff so he can move up in the draft.

Saw this tweet and thought it was funny.

They should make it 30 yards. We all know white men can’t jump!

There are 6 black GMs. Which means there are 26 white GMs.

Your point? Race shouldn't matter in the hiring process. You hire the person who you feel is best for the job. That concept applies at the player level. Why shouldn't it apply at the coach / GM level?

It does. Unfortunately, I think there are some owners who honestly believe black people are qualified to run their organizations because they are black.

Without that narrative they lose a lot of elections because they lose the arena of ideas. For many, there racism call is not about racism it is about power and they've attached it to racism.

I'm genuinely curious. Outside of Tomlin, who are the most successful AA HCs in the NFL? Leaving who had won a SB.

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot Dungy

His point in invalid anyway as that’s a higher rate than the population rate.

Let me start by saying the average coach has a winning percentage at little over .550 in their coaching career if I recall a stat I saw within the last few years and most coaches fail or are career journeymen. With that said, Dungy and Dennis Green are two other names that quickly come to mind. There have been other good coaches or assumed to be good coaches. Arizona State current head coach could still be coaching in the NFL if he wanted.

The former NY Giants GM used to be a WR for UT Martin in the mid 80's. Eli Manning last several years hurt his career.

Thanks. Outside of the Titans I don't really pay much attention to the NFL.

I haven't heard Sterling's name brought up since a bunch of woke people got mad at him and made him sell his team for 3X's what it was worth. I guess the PC world showed him!

No one disagrees that it shouldn't matter

How do you know they are unqualified? The numbers speak for themselves. 70% of the players are African American while only 4 of the 32 teams have a black coach. That is a massive discrepancy

So should teams get improved draft position for drafting white players? They are the big minority as far as players go. If that idea were floated it would immediately be called “racist”. So for one group it’s based on your qualifications and skill, but for the other it’s just about evening up the numbers? This idea is stupid. We’re supposed to look past skin color, but then some people want to make hires and give advantages to others based solely upon skin color. Now the most qualified person will not always get the job, it will be hire the black guy and get better draft position. Cry about racism while making hires based solely upon race, ok 😂

To Tomlin's credit he has been very successful. Bad example. Antonio's Brown makes anyone look back and now the Steelers can get back to business as usual. It's the stability that has made them successful over time.
It’s not a bad example. He was a broken elbow away from possibly being fired this season. Yeah he won a Super Bowl, but he’s underachieved at times, he’s run a pretty loose ship and he’s lucky to be a part of such a stable organization who obviously treats everyone fairly. I’m sure when he’s no longer a member of the Steelers organization he won’t have a problem being the head coach at another organization like all the other NFL retreads.

Plus a lot of owners just plain suck.... they prefer to hire retreads instead of promising up and coming coaches.....

That’s what’s ironic. This idea actually goes against what many black people have fought for over the years. I wouldn’t want a handout because of my skin color. That is actually demeaning and that would be treating me like a commodity. I mean seriously, you’re trading draft positions for people. How is that different than trading a person for 3 goats or money or whatever?

How many players are black compared to white? Hypocrite

Players have the opportunity to win a job by competing against their colleagues every year whether they are black or white. Coaches don’t have that same opportunity afforded to them

So if a black coach isnt a good coach, should he get the job based on his skin?
