Nichols committed to Memphis?

The problem with Memphis is that it's in Memphis. After having lived there four years, I can't imagine why anyone would choose it.

You are aware that Nichols has lived in Memphis, or the surrounding area, for 18 years now right? He and his family love the city.

I'm sorry someone stole your bike when you lived in Memphis, but I think the City is great, and obviously Austin likes it as well.

Memphis is great, I agree.

A lot of people who say they don't like Memphis have never really spent much time there.

Just like every major city, you have to know where to go. It makes baltimore look like paradise.

No offense but Memphis is a complete dump. Anyone that says otherwise has bad taste or hasn't lived out of the city but no reason to turn this into a debate on which area is nicer. It's an opinion.

Still.....I feel bad for the kids future. Pastner is not going to coach the Tigers long. I'd love to eat crow but he has shown me NOTHING since he's accepted the job.

Have you lived there? Would love to know where else you have lived. Sorry, but your ignorance is showing.

I wish it was just a bike. I lived in multiple parts of the city. Never felt safe. Most racially tense city I've ever been in. I can understand him wanting to stay close to home, though. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun town. An attempted home invasion and a multitude of other things had MD more than ready to leave. I wish the kid well

Playing in the Big East.
Playing in an NBA arena.
Playing in front of family and friends.
Fitting into an already stacked roster and class.
Playing for a coaching staff that has put a player into the lottery each of the last two years and will likely put at least one in this year.

You really can't understand it?

Uhh, no. Perhaps you haven't read the papers lately, but quite a few schools have left.

C'mon Shaun, you're better than this. I love Memphis and I currently live in, and love, Knoxville. Do I have bad taste?

As for Pastner, I'm not sure why you think he's going anywhere. especially after this news.

Coaches are surprised as anyone. When he left his visit, he was all vol according to HIM.
Think he surprised Hubbs too.
Was tweeting Saturday that he was playing against his soon to be team mate.
Shocking news.

Outside of meeting my wife here, this city is garbage and as soon as I find work that can pay me equal to what I make now, we are gone. And I've lived here for quite a while if you want to question that.

Yet once Memphis is added it will still probably be the second or third best bball conference. At any rate, it's a step up from the C-USA which is all that really matters.

Like memphis is any better at Baketball.Really.Look at the series record. Tennessee has more than held their own against memphis and then some. You like Miami in Football and Memphis in Basketball.Sounds like a Bandwagon fan to me.Pick one and stick with it.

C'mon guys Memphis is the logical choice here...
Family is here
Better tradition
Better facilities
It's like telling a kid from Knoxville who plays football to choose between Memphis or Tennessee, what choice would you think that kid would make?

Fine. Listen-we're on edge right now. We have a joke of a Head Football coach, almost lost to Troy, have an AD fighting to KEEP him, and just lost Austin to Memphis. Not a good day.
