Nico leaving?? [NOPE]

It's been so long I probably can't remember. I'm going to get torched, but Peyton was just "really good" during his time at UT. He couldn't win big games. I think Hooker was our closest to "great" in a long time, his injury coupled with Beamer colluding with C. Stallions robbed him of solidifying his greatness.
So by this criteria you’d consider Tee great?

Well, if you think Manning was just “really good”, I’ll be ok with Nico being “really good” as well…… ecstatic as a matter of fact

He'd better be asking who's going to be keeping him upright.

I get the O-line wasn’t great and I’ve been critical at times myself. That said they can’t be as bad as we sometimes make out when the sec player of the year is our rb who broke the single season td record. I wouldn’t exactly call Sampson a bruiser.

Nico would be taking a pay cut if he left. He's staying!
Yeah no doubt. Any school that offers him a better deal than what he has here is just plain stupid after the very average season he just had. Now, he may decide to take less, being that his 90% of his OL and WR corps are all gone and we don't have a proven guy yet like DS at RB for next year. Lots a questions for sure.

Darian Mensah got a reported $4M/yr deal with Duke. He's good but......

QB value may be rising.

Proof that some people actually believe the QB is solely responsible for every win or loss...

Sure, he could be leaving, and part of me doesn’t blame him if no changes are going to be made. IMO, you saw the ceiling, or maybe a game away from it best case, with what we have player wise and coaching staff wise. My larger, and first concern, is about money, ie the song in the post is about getting paid at the first of the month (amongst other things lol). Worse case scenario is that the collective is not making the payments they have agreed on. That would essentially be the death penalty in the current ecosystem of college football. Other teams would use it in recruiting (both new and current players), and once word got out, not many kids would take that chance. Hopefully, it’s not the latter. I would prefer that Nico not leave, but I would be really disappointed if it were that.

Look at Tee’s first year numbers and compare them to Nico….. then look at the Oline the Vols had….. then look at the receivers….. then look at the RBs…. Tee had one hell of a supporting cast
Why is it so hard to admit when someone has far underachieved expectations? It’s not an attack on him. It just is what it is. He was a low tier SEC QB. As you said I hope he does improve. He’s got the intangibles. We’ve seen many highly recruited QBs not live up to the hype lately. Bailey most recently. It happens. Call it freshmen all you want, but he’s 2 full years into the system now.
