Nike Adidas and Under Armour Tell Lavar Ball To Pound Sand

Lamelo needs to tighten up his handle quite a bit if he wants to be a PG. It doesn't look much better than your average high school player. If he doesn't stick at PG he's not nearly as good of a prospect as his older brother

He's only 15 years old. Y'all don't understand how much kids improve from his age to 18 when they enter college. He's just growing into his body right now.

I was at an AAU game in 2005 that featured Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon, and Ty Lawson. They were all about 16-17 years old except for Blake who was the youngest at 15 years old. And man did he look out place. He was a chubby kid back then that was more of an energy player. He didn't look like a guy who would become one of the best dunkers in NBA history at that time. Kevin Durant was also not close to what he is now. He was an akward uncoordinated tall kid with long arms that could shoot. The best player BY FAR at that age was Eric Gordon. He was basically the same height he is now and had similar skills.

I said all that to say that if you judged those kids back then you would have thought Eric Gordon would be the best player and you would say Blake Griffin has no NBA potential.

LaMelo at 15 years old is ahead of almost everyone his age. He'll improve massively over the next 2 years. And watch out cause he's still growing. Blake Griffin at the same age transformed big time from when he was 15 years old to 18 when he entered college.

I know far more about basketball than you ever will. His ball handling at age 15 is extremely average.

But Griffin is a big man and Durant is 6' 9". Of course it took them more time to grow into their bodies and be the athletes they became. Eric Gordon is Lamelo's size. I'm not saying Lamelo is garbage, I'm just saying your anecdote has no bearing.

The biggest thing I question about this kids game is his ability to be coached. He has the green light 100% of the time. What's he gonna do when he doesn't have that?? His AAU team was just blown out by 50+ this past weekend and the kid struggled the entire game against top talent. He doesn't play D and hi shot selection is horrible. If his dad wasn't coaching that team he woulda been benched. Hopefully he grows up and realizes basketball is a team sport, he needs to get away from his dad before he ruins him
