Ok.
(1) How about Duke's campus being nicknamed "The Plantation" by the majority black residents of Durham because of the fact that it was black people from Durham cleaning up after rich white kids from around the country?
(2) How about every service employee on campus being black outside of the McDonald's in the Bryan Center that for some reason only hired Mexicans?
(3) How about the "black bench" on West campus at the bus stop where black students used to hang out waiting for the buses taking people to east and central campus?
You might not have noticed all this because your experience wasn't the same as mine being a black man on a campus like Duke. But honestly the only memories I have of Duke was the racism I and many other black students experienced.
So excuse me for not remembering the names of buildings. What I remember instead is the fact that all of west campus was designed by a black architect who was not allowed to visit Duke to see his work because be was black and it was still during the times of Jim Crow.
