I had no idea people were this serious about their athletic brands. Jesus....

I'm pretty sure there is a scripture that says if you wear Nike you get eternal salvation but you'll burn in hell for wearing adidas.

Speaking of Jesus, if you see that guy tell him I need my grass mowed again.

I just don't get the whole Nike or Adidas thing. Is it really that big of a deal what kind of shoes/jersey's someone wears? Maybe I'm missing something in this whole thing. Seems to me that playing time or chance to win would be a bigger influence.

I think when it's influence your playing choice, it's gone a little far, but there is something to be said for preferring certain brands. Certain brands either make a higher quality product or a product that fits your needs. I abhor having to wear Nike warmups/jerseys over adidas, and I'd rather not wear any boots but Kelme (or possibly Valsport).

If teams couldn't make deals with manufacturers and had to buy there own gear, who do you think they would buy from?

And you definitely don't want Reebok ask Tobias what type of shoes he was wearing when he broke his foot during the McDonalds game.

I highly doubt the type of shoe he was wearing had anything to do with his foot breaking....but a good excuse to try and throw a brand under the bus. Im by no means a Rebook supporter, Im just saying

I play basketball and football. Adidas isn't awful like some people say, but I prefer nike when I am playing.

UT's contract with Adidas is up on June 30, 2010...so LA Gear is still a possibility!

Don't count out British Knights. I hear they are making a new line that has tons of cool commercials and since we think 18yr. olds have the same brain power as pre-schoolers its rumored they will make you run faster too! Also for the elite schools there will be zippers on the sides like the old roos to stash all the drugs in so you know its gonna be a hit. Hide the drugs and run faster from cops whats not to like!

This is a definite winner.

High schools kids are pretty dumb...Nike isn't that much (if at all) better than Adidas. Yet it's the trendy and more recognized brand so more kids want to buy a pair of shoes with a swoosh on it instead of 3 stripes. I can only speak about shoes, but I must say Adidas are just as good as Nike in that category. I don't own any other equipment from Nike or Adidas...All I need are shoes for running, and honestly New Balance and Asic are far better for that anyway.

if we were to change to nike would our jerseys change and what are the chances of switching to nike?

The jerseys would look better because the orange on the pants would match the orange on the shirts. Adidas is incapable of that.

The chance of switching to Nike? 1%

Adidas paid a large bonus to get an automatic extention and all they have to do is match any offer. I don't what is more stupid, agreeing to that or hiring Todd Raleigh.

BRILLIANT! Here's all of our other bids, please treat us like the royalty all the adidas whores say you will.

We are now Adidas' B!TCH

It's very subtle, but Sneaker affiliation does have an influence when it comes to recruits. For the most part Nike controls the AAU circuit.

Want to know why some of you think our other two recruits are under-rated? Take a look at their AAU pictures and tell me what type of uniforms they have on. They don't play the nike circuit.

The major recruits play on Nike Teams, Nike tournaments and what kind of schools do you think have an easier access to their Nike AAU coaches? Nike Schools.

You don't want UA just ask some maryland fans.

And you definitely don't want Reebok ask Tobias what type of shoes he was wearing when he broke his foot during the McDonalds game.

I know you just didnt say that Harris broke his foot because he was wearing Reeboks ????? you should be banned from VN for even making such an ignorant comment.

A Nike contract would be huge for us. Adidas just ain't cutting it in the sports world anymore. We NEED Nike at UT. Plus those new "With all your might" shirts are stupid. That should show you that Adidas lost touch right there....

Regardless of whether or not they like Rebook, Im saying IT HAD NOTHING to do with Tobias breaking his foot. To say otherwise is completely retarded
