Nike Set to Unveil New Oregon Jerseys for BCS Title game

I was honestly kind of irritated by the uniforms they had on for the Civil War -- there was no green or yellow anywhere that I could see.

This may end up being the biggest game the school will ever have, mix in the team colors. I don't agree with throwbacks, that's stuff for the regular season. You don't commemorate old teams (especially ones that lost their bowl game), make a name for this seasons team.

Officially, yeah, but how did you find out?

From someone who's employed by a uniform distribution company. He claimed Nike placed an order for new Oregon jerseys, a gray themed set, titled "War Machines".

Turns out he was right.

The only reason that I'd feel okay about wearing throwbacks for the game (which, I agree, should usually be reserved for the regular season) is because 1994 was the season where everything started to turn around. We've been climbing up to this point from then, and commemorating the start of the climb would be pretty cool.

I also agree on the team colors front. Personally, I'd pick the green helmet with the white and green jerseys and the green pants. I hate this whole "War Machines" idea.

On the subject of the unis from the OSewe game, they looked badass. However, not having a speck of green or yellow on was a little disturbing.

They were pretty nice, I've got the new SI with LMJ on the cover next to me -- but only the number outlines are green, and there's no yellow.

The color yellow is ugly, and with the exception of accent usage, I'd prefer they not use the color at all. Hell, they may as well change the official school colors to green, black, and steel.

Well, for one, football is the only sport at the U of O where they deviate from green and yellow that much. Schools don't really change colors out of the blue.

When their colors are green and yellow, they should. Phil has already changed the tone of both the green and the yellow, may we well get rid of the latter.

I actually thought the uniforms from last Saturday were really cool.

I hated the ones they wore in the Civil War. A white jersey with white letters...really? Who thought that was a good idea?

Do Oregon fans have massive flame wars over what colors are traditional? There have been friendships lost in Tennessee over the color of hymnals at the local Backrow Baptist Conventions. And I think we all remember the black jersey fiasco of 2009. I don't think these Oregonians even care about their team.

Some of the older alums don't seem too fond of the uniforms when they started leaving out green and yellow altogether, but they realize that recruits love it so they let it be.

Indeed they were. Hence the reason I'm all for eliminating as much yellow as possible.

I tend to hate Oregon's unis, but those...those are badass.

About the only newish Nike stuff I like.

EDIT: I also greatly enjoyed Oregon State's throwbacks.

I would love to see Tennessee introduce some silver into their uniforms. And before you guys say it.......I know, I know.

Maybe it's just me. but I equate the Yellow with Oregon, the same way I equate Orange with Tennessee.

When their uniforms are primarily green and white with yellow trim, they are some of the best in college football. I love all of these combinations:

1. 1 green 1.jpg
2. 2 white 1.jpg
3. 3 green 2.jpg
4. 4 white 2.jpg
5. 5 green 3.jpg

When they bust out the silver, I feel like they are making a mockery of college football. The silver-white-silver combination is one of the reasons that I'll be pulling for Auburn.

Completely agree with everything in this post

So it was a fiasco for Tennessee to do a one-time-only Orange and Black combination on Halloween, but you'd like to introduce silver into our regular uniforms?!?!?!?

The fiasco was in reference to many of the fan reactions. Not the uni's themselves. Personally, I like the black and wish it would be made a staple of the uniform. Sorry if my posts were confusing. I tend to ramble.
