The biggest threat we have in CJH leaving is related to recruiting. Any program that has a built in recruiting advantage and is willing to pay more than we do is very stiff competition. Georgia, Bama, LSU, Florida, TAM, Texas and probably others have a natural recruiting advantage over us because of geography and demographics. And that's just the SEC. We must have an NIL program to at least match other schools.
I do believe he's satisfied here but we need to help him and the program out as much as possible.
Stop with this crap. I'm so sick of some people (not all) in East Tennessee acting like UT is the University of East Tennessee. Our tax dollars go to UT, that stadium is full of Middle Tennesseans on Saturday, the student body is full of Middle Tennessee kids, and guess what? Top Middle Tennessee recruits do a LOT more for UT's program than East Tennessee kids. Derek Barnett, Rashaan Gaulden, Jauan Jennings, Jalen Hurd, Ty Chandler, Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Caleb Herring, Arion Carter, and others were top (4* or better) Middle Tennessee kids who chose UT. When East Tennessee produces a top ranked recruit, he goes to Clemson or aTm. Maybe East Tennessee should start pulling its weight before claiming sole ownership of UT.
Same applies to the people who want to disclaim Memphis and West Tennessee. That area has also been good to UT. And, like it or not, Nashville and Memphis are the two largest cities with the most culture, the most recruiting talent, and the most money. It's ALL Tennessee. Stop being divisive.
If they build that 2. billion dollar stadium and try to impose a state income tax to pay for it a couple of years down the road, then I won't be the only one
in East TN ready to disclaim Nashville. Back in the day, states split up over irreconcilable differences. It is not a big deal.
You guys in Middle TN can root for Vandy. They can play in that new stadium if the Titans get sold to new ownership and the new owner decides to pack up and move.

Live in MIddle Tennessee. Excited about the stadium as it will bring final 4, Super Bowl and possibly NC games to middle TN.If they build that 2. billion dollar stadium and try to impose a state income tax to pay for it a couple of years down the road, then I won't be the only one

NIL was meant to be a way for players to earn money off of their name, image likeness. In a perfect world, that would mean business owners paying players.
Sadly, that is not how it works.
I'll try to keep this short, but let's first start with what Spyre does (I learned most of this from their Q&A, but Will correct me if I'm wrong):
- facilitates sponsorships for players with local businesses
- also offers endorsements to players to sign merchandise, attend meetings, etc...
- using a third party, handles the payment system for players and potential taxes etc...
- can legally now work directly with the university
90% of every dollar goes directly to the players. The rest is used for overhead.
Quarterly autographed photos should be arriving today!
Thanks! My understanding is that the second bullet point is often the most important in getting all players on the team at least some kind of NIL.
The deals naturally tend to concentrate on a segment of the roster that is most marketable/visible.
I heard that in other environments, this dynamic led to roster attrition. I also heard that this may have led to friction on our own roster at some point this season.
Regardless of any philosophical perspective anyone may have on what amounts to a universal basic NIL income, I think it may be a necessary component to stabilizing a competitive roster in the NIL world.
Amen Amsler, the whole Damn State of Tennessee is Tennessee football!!! LoserVols name says it all!!!! From Gatlinburg to Graceland and all points in between. Nobody dare to ever take that away from folks all over the Volunteer State!!!!!GBO!!!!!You understand that the Titans and the taxpayers of Middle Tennessee are different people, right? And that, even if the stadium were paid for by state taxes, that doesn’t mean Middle Tennesseans did that to you, right?
But yeah, pick a random issue that has nothing to do with Middle Tennessee Vol fans to say they should all leave Vol Nation and cheer for Vandy, to the extreme detriment of UT. That’s your prerogative. Just as it’s mine to consider your post moronic. Because it is. But some people just need any reason to be tribal and divisive.
Without making this a big political thing, as long as the GOP controls the Tennessee Governor's office and Legislature I can't see a state income tax passing nor being signed. If they build that 2. billion dollar stadium and try to impose a state income tax to pay for it a couple of years down the road, then I won't be the only one

None because it isn't a good one. It is a waste of hard earned money IMHO. I do wonder how many autographs Nico has sent to his benefactors though. I would hope he has enough class to at least do that much. How much have you invested?
