Nkamhoua out for the season

Well the silver lining is it happening right now and not a week before March madness. Gives us more time to adjust and learn to live life without ORN
I sure hope adjusting doesn’t mean losing. I think losing ON is a big hit. Arkansas x 2, Auburn and KY are really bad physical mismatches in the paint. Just losing his D might be a 2-5 point swing. Crazy things happen when people go down. We’ll either see a miracle with someone really stepping up, or this could grind our seed down to a 6.

You can never tell how a team will respond to the loss of a player to injury. Sometimes it brings the group closer together and lights a fire. And even if that happens, can they maintain it? We've got several bad matchups left on the schedule and MSU is one of them. Doubt we see this team go in the tank, but I'm having a really hard time seeing a suitable replacement for ON ready to step in on the roster. I think we see small ball from here on out with JJJ and Fulky handling the load inside as it were. Won't be the least bit surprised by any outcome against MSU. We could lose or blow their doors off. Just no telling. We'll have a much better handle on what to expect going forward after the MSU game tho. You hate to see the injury, but it's always interesting to see how a team will respond to that sort of adversity.

Given the look on his face, and the fact that he wasn’t screaming, I’d say he snapped his Achilles clean. He hit a slippery spot on the floor which is about as bad as ice for snapping that tendon.
I think I read somewhere that it was a bad fracture. That could be incorrect, though.

I’m not a doctor, but I play one on TV… If they say fracture, I’m sure it is. I just saw the slip, and then his look, Something snapped in a way he found baffling. Not a good feeling, but beats agonizing pain.

I’ve seen several Achilles’ injuries happen in-person, and those involved knew it immediately. I kind of wonder when I saw it happen if it might be that. I also thought it might be a soft tissue injury involving ligaments/tendons in the ankle area. Who knows, though. His expression was priceless.
