I guess it is time to brush off the ole stock response...

If a recruit is a chicken**** enough to not want to come here because of something a stranger said on a message board, or dumb enough to believe something clearly marked "RUMOR" I don't want him here.

I wanted to reply to this post from the RUMOR thread by UTs#1Fan:

"So I take it you support anyone posting any kind of drivel they want AS LONG as they establish they don't know if it's true??? Listen how dumb this is.... THEY ARE POSTING SOMETHING THAT THEY ADMITTEDLY DON'T KNOW IF IT IS TRUE OR NOT??!!??"

The only thing dumb about it is that you hate it, yet you listen to and participate in the debates. If it bugs you so much, don't read it, don't get involved. Spare yourself the stress. I don't understand how you can't comprehend that VN is a site that was designed to facilitate such information and debates. When someone says "It may be BS", that's your cue to not pay attention to it. They are saying it may not be true and are giving you the option to seriously consider it or not. It's your fault for getting yourself caught up in it. I understand that you don't like it, and you have good reasons for it, but get the hell over it man.

I cant imagine being a recruit and loging on here to see what the fans are saying and letting that have any influence on my decision. Do players, coaches, AD's etc read here also?

If I were a recruit, I would want to know if the fan base backed both the players and the coach. What better place than the message board for each school to find out? Selby's mom did and it played a factor.

That wouldn't be very bright. Message boards bring out extreme views that many people are afraid to publicly utter....or are instantly laughed off the face of the earth if they do.

To believe that extreme views on message boards represent the majority of opinions (of a fanbase) is just silly.

Regardless of how silly it seems, Selby's mom was quoted as saying she didn't like some of the things that were said about him on Tennessee's boards after he de-committed.:eek:hmy:

Hope UT doesn't get a year ot two ban on the post season, guess the AA will decide later on. Seems unfair to the players,fans, and recruits. :whistling:

So you are saying the Selby clan was testing us and if we said nice things about him after he de-committed, he would have re-committed?

He is a very good player,but seems to me more trouble than he is worth......regardless what his momma says. Seems like the clan might have their own interest in mind.
