No one fear, Jeb Bush says...

Florida is NOT Bush's "home" state. But don't let facts get in the way of your opinion. Besides...Vols will win.

A lot of the so-called fans bash and pick on the Vols daily on here and pick them to lose. With "fans" like that, who needs trolls. GBO!!

Technicality. Florida is considered his "home state" since he was a 2-term governor there. Kinda like Tennessee was considered Al Gore's "home state" when that buffoon ran for president because he was a former senator here....even though that imbecile was raised in Washington, DC because his racist father was a US Senator and resided there.

That's correct on all aspects.

He's probably not being dumb at all.

A third of the voting population of Florida couldn't give a crap about any of the Florida football teams; they're all 60+ years old, transplants from Big10 and ACC country. They're all rooting for Syracuse, Rutgers, and Michigan.

Among the other two-thirds, half are FSU fans, because FSU won a championship most recently (there are a lot of bandwagon jumpers down there) ... and half of the remaining one-third of the state are Miami fans.

That leaves just one-sixth of the state's population to be pissed off at Jeb's pick. The other five-sixths either don't give a poop, or applaud his choice of Tennessee.

Politicians rarely say anything without thinking through how it will poll first. :)

A maximum of about 400 votes in Florida could be swayed by this pick. That few would never determine the outcome of a national election.

He is worse of a politician than I thought picking against his home state team lol. And it's a swing state.:loco:

This is an underrated post IMO. Should put this thread squarely in the politics forum.

But, why would a populist poli do that? It's not like he knows football, or is being honest. Weird.

Just thinking (in an effort to salvage an originally acrimony-free thread) what some other candidates might say...

Rand Paul
"I would not have Tennessee use their ground attack away from home."

Carly Fiorina
"This is a contest where you can ignore past records--please."

Donald Trump
"With Florida's great front four, they seldom need to blitz. When Florida sends their linebackers, they're not sending their best. They're sending people who have lots of problems."

Hillary Clinton
"I emailed you my prediction, but it's now classified. What difference, at this point, does it make?"

Since the mods won't move it and I like your angle BO.

Rick Perry
"Three reasons Florida wins 1. Great offense 2. Great defense and 3. . . . And 3. . . . Oops"

The report appears to be from Bristol, TN. So I get why he said it. He's voting according to where his feet are standing. When he leaves Tennessee the answer will change.

Whether it affects 400 votes, or 40, or 40,000, the fact is he'd gain more than he loses because only a minority of voters in Florida are Gator fans. And he'd definitely know that as the former Gov of the state.

That's the point, not the magnitude of any possible swing.

Maybe one day you socialists will show us where it actually works without support from other countries. Namely the U.S.

Give me one concrete example of socialism policy implemented by Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton or Barak Obama and then we'll talk about it
