No Tourney Thread?

There is a natural skepticism of Gonzaga because, year in and year out, they've compiled a really strong regular season record built on beating up on a weak conference. Less so this year as they played some good teams ooc, but still, it's tough to believe given their history of seemingly underachieving in the tourneu.

But they really haven't underachieved the last 8 or 9 years. With the exception of 2013 when they lost as a one seed to Wichita in the second round, they've pretty much gone as far as they should have. Last year they nearly made the elite 8 as an 11 seed.

That's exactly what he said...gotta love blue bloods hating on new bloods...

I am hating on the NCAA, not the Zags. They did all they could do. Similar to Wichita State in 2014, they deserve their seed. But inexplicably the NCAA seemed to load the other sides of the bracket. Nova and Duke had killers in their side. The South was loaded too to bottom.

My complaint is mostly with the NCAA and people who are anti blue bloods with a hard on for mid-majors. Zaga is a great team.

Q: What's the difference between Kate Upton & the Florida Gators?

A: Kate doesn't choke on the big ones

I thought that's what you were saying by the tournament committee rewarded them

I guess my rambling and bias took this discussion in a weird direction...but my whole point was the NCAA gave Zaga an easy path. Some took that as a UK fan simply hating a mid-major. It was more of me just being a crybaby about how the seeding was terrible this year.

Congrats to South Carolina. Peaking at the right time.

Florida needs to give Mike White a healthy raise. Then White needs to go find a talented center. Too many missed shots and poor ball handling on the inside for UF, which was bound to cost them at some point.

We weren't gonna win going 0/14 or whatever it was from 3 in the second half. We had to hit a couple to have a chance and it was just one of those really awful stretches where everyone was off. They were for the most part, open looks too. Disappointing way to go out but GG SC. I hope they win it all but Gonzaga is tough.

LOL...it's not like we choked away a 20-point lead to Ohio State in the Elite 8 ten years ago and haven't gotten past that point in the tournament since...like, ever. :eek:lol:

South Carolina did what they needed to do. Kudos to them.

Had a huge problem with the officiating.

They played football in the 1st half. In the 2nd half, Carolina was in the bonus with 15 minutes left to play.

Call it one way or the other and call it that way the whole game.

I'll also take a point guard who can shoot better than 21% from beyond the arc.

Yeah, it was rough. I try not to put too much on the refs but SC was getting all the ticky tack calls in the second half while we weren't.

The most egregious was of course, the missed travel when they threw the ball down the court. We would have had the ball down two points but with that blown call we were down four and it was pretty much over.

Still. We made far too many mistakes, dumb turnovers, and missed open 3s to expect to win. Not to mention played the worst post defense I've seen in a long time.
