What a great moment for them beating a top 10 team for the first time in program history. Against in-state rival Iowa State, too! Wow. Happy for them.

Vandy playing the worst schedule in the country again though. Even their two P4 non-con games are against a terrible looking Arizona team and a rebuilding Miami team with a new coach.

They did about the same last year and it didn’t serve them well. SEC hit them like a ton of bricks just like it will this year.

Blakes has looked great against inferior competition but will have a shock to her system come SEC play. Freshman don’t always handle that well and they are relying on her for a lot.

Also I believe Justine played in the previous game or two so idk what is up there. Must have some sort of nagging injury.

Yikes. Syracuse loses to U of Albany by a triple at (nearly) the buzzer. Not a good loss for them at all; it’s not the blowout loss to St. Joe’s, which was worse, but these are two games now that they ostensibly should have won.

I don’t have any specific insights beyond that because I was (of course) at home watching the UConn game and only had the Syracuse game on in the background. But, yikes.

Guess they lost more in Fair than I thought!

Jaloni Cambridge is killing it early on for Ohio State. Hope UT doesn't play them this season.
Also UCONN was 56.5 favorites, took the other team +56.5. Just another reason to root against them. That's a ridiculous spread.

If about 7-8 played, I imagine if Coach Caldwell had the same philosophy and played 8-9 TN could’ve beaten both Samford and UT Martin by 50+ and Liberty by between 30-40 points.
I think her idea of playing 11-12 will bode well by conference play so it help the team in the long run.

Right. If Coach Caldwell had her full roster of 15, then she we would be playing 13-14 a night.
The fact that she played 12 against MTSU a NCAA tourney team and won by double digits just three games into this new era is unheard of.
Averaging 97.5 ppg with an extended rotation is signs of an elite offense.

IMO it's clear Vandy is on the rise over the last few years. Recruiting is better, they're far more athletic, and Shea Ralph is a good coach.

Their recruiting is garbage. Only reason Blakes isn’t a Lady Vol is because our previous staff couldn’t close the deal. Rinse and repeat.
