Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2023-24

UCLA just too hot, 6-9 from 3 they usually make 8 a game. Hard to compete with that kind of shooting.
I don't have Fs1, but I maintain Dawn Staley is not a great offensive coach, has little ability to adjust game plans in the middle of a game and has never been a contender for a final 4 without a dominant post player. Teams can now play SC's perimeter players honestly without a skilled 6-7 in the post and I don't see them winning the SEC. 6-7 changes the dynamics on the floor both offensively and defensively. I picked SC to finish 2nd possibility 3rd this season and will stick to that prediction. I picked same way last year, but didn't realize Cardosa was as skilled as she was because she had lived in the shadow of Boston.

Yes I've always thought this. Recruiting, motivation, and organizing are Dawn's strong suits. Certainly not offense. She could have been a Pat Tree coach.

Don't think Dawn's tried much this game, just doing her best smell-a-fart face and letting them absorb the lesson.

So curious about Fulwiley.

Who you see winning the SEC now?

Who you see winning the SEC now?
Probably LSU or possibly Texas. Oklahoma is a long shot, but Beers has to show up. They won the big 12 last year with basically the same team minus Beers. Obviously I would love to pick my Lady Vols, but I'm waiting to see how the defense evolves, especially in the half court out of the press. Florida State and Iowa games will be telling.

Those are the games I’m waiting for to give my assessment of this team, they need to beat FSU because of last year, and Iowa is a team we need to punish because I can’t stand them or what they stand for.
Pardon my ignorance, but what does Iowa women's basketball stand for ?

Just one game a lot will change before the end of the season. I remember when Parker and the Lady Vols got dominated by Stanford in a regular season game then dominated Stanford in the National Championship game. Sc will be a big factor still think they have to be considered the favorites in the SEC. Big win for UCLA thought they played really great defense and were very active from start to finish.
