Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2023-24

It’s won’t be easy to deal with all of those egos.

It's clear that Tina has tucked her tail in between her legs. She signed a 1-year deal only. I think that's a sign that she just wants a title. That leaves Diamond as the x-factor. And if she acts up, you can bet that they'll just waive/trade her in a heartbeat because they don't need her. She's probably not even gonna start. The rest of them all played together last year. Nygaard should continue to start Turner and let Charles sub in for both her and Griner. They could all play about the same amount of minutes anyway regardless of who is starting.

It sounds good in theory…but as we know it only takes one rotten apple to spoil the bunch.

I hate that they scheduled it like that.

What’s your take?

I thought it was interesting. A little like the Stanford/UCLA games. I can’t remember if that is every year or not. They play back to back some seasons and it’s interesting. A lot can change in two days. Which should give us some hope for tomorrow lol.

LOL I hope we have a 180 from Thursday’s game. I don’t like it because if I wanted to go to either game and it’s a bad weekend for me (scheduling challenges) now I miss the chance to watch both games in person. Spread it out…let the animosity build!

Baylor has a 64-53 over Texas in a very physical game with 5 minutes left. Both teams have 19 turnovers !! I guess we're not the only ranked team with turnover problems.

Oregon/Oregon State also do their matchup like that as well, at least they have in the past. They make a weekend out of it.

The Pac12 usually schedules travel partners/ rivals to play each other back to back (Arizona/ASU, USC/UCLA, Stanford/California, Washington/Washington St, Utah/Colorodo).

It’s Amanda Butler’s 4th year as head coach at Clemson and they are currently 1-10 in the ACC. Butler’s first season she went 9-7 in conference, then 3-15 in 2020, and 5-12 last year.

Anyone think she will be fired or will they wait until another bad season?

I would think so because looking like she can't recruit to that school. Started out well with someone elses recruits and has steadily went the other way with hers.

She is gone after this season

That’s sooo late. This is why the PAC doesn’t get the respect they deserve. We’re all in bed when they’re playing.
I stayed up and watched, I thought Oregon would win but Az had diff thoughts. Every time I think Az is overrated they do something like this. They are really good on D and very well coached, just a tough team. “PowPow” went 1-5 in 32 minutes. Talk about lock down Def.

I think she’s out. Maybe one more year but she would have to show marked improvement or it’s on to the next.
