Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2023-24

Bluder needs to get her some help. Doesn’t matter if you score 80 if your team doesn’t get the W.

Opinions on Clark shooting shots like this?

The most ridiculous thing about that shot was how she was 100% certain that it was going in the minute it left her fingers. Too bad she's not on a better team.

I think that she was trying to speed up the game to cut into Michigan's lead, and wouldn't normally take those kind of shots that early in the shot clock...I think!

Elite shooters should be convinced every shot they put up is going in — she’s definitely leading the pack on that front.

If I’m Bluder, I’m obviously thrilled she makes it; however, I don’t think I want her putting up shots that leave her nowhere near the rebound. Especially on a day when they’re already getting owned on the boards…

Wonder why Clark is a 30 percent three point shooter. She can make several in a row and evidently miss many in a row. She has a lot of range but not the percentage you need to be considered an elite three point shooter. She has taken 179 three pointers made 54. She has an all round game, but it is evident she takes a few three pointers best not taken because 30 percent from the three is not elite. Last season 40 percent the 10 percent drop this season must be taking shots that are well guarded.

There is no coach in America that would advise their players to sag off Clark behind the arc since she's not an elite 3-point shooter. She hasn't shot well this year, but she was at 40% last year...and that's with every team setting up their defense to stop her.

What I said evidently still trying to shoot although well guarded. Dropping ten percent from your freshman season is a big drop. She was elite last season this year at 30 percent average as best.

I think her number drop is an aberration. They had a lengthy COVID lockdown, and her shot was shaky when she came back. She was close to 50% last night vs. Michigan 6-13 and they were draped all over her.

Have no reason for it but know that 90 points on 100 threes to 120 points on 100 certainly has affected their won lost percentage. She has a big game yesterday and shot 50 percent, but they lost by 8 points. I think if I was playing them I would face guard her with my best defender cause it looks like no one else on that team can beat you.

Czinano is averaging 20.2 pts and 6+ rbds a game, but she can't create. She's the recipient of most of Caitlyn's assists. Beyond those two, they don't look impressive. Plus, they don't play much defense at all.

Iowa’s main issue is defense. They can score no problem with Clark running the show. Unfortunately she’s not a very good two way player at this point. Neither are the rest of her teammates.

Bluder needs a defensive stopper or two and a post with more size and they could contend for a National Championship these next two seasons.
