Yes. When she immediately walked off the floor and to the locker room it seemed like she knew. Actually when she felt it happen, the dreaded non contact, you could see it on her face. Really ashamed.Based on Geno’s post game comments I think Fudd is done. Really sad for her, her body just isn’t made for it.
"She got herself in an awkward situation. She was walking around fine, it didn't look like worst case scenario ... We'll know more when we get back. I hope I'm right that it's not that worst case scenario that we've seen so many times before"
That is his exact quote. Sounds like he’s trying to be positive but idk. Based on her history I think her career is likely over. Just too many knee problems.

I genuinely hope not, but won't be surprised if the same thing happens to Paige before the year is over.
One way Azzi can really contribute to the sport is to allow extensive study on why her body isn't made for it. Something structurally that's different? It can't just be coincidence at this point. Every bit of info the sport can gather on these awful injuries would be important.
What? Maybe it's my old eyes but Azzi looks quite sturdy to me. She and Paige seem like total different body types.
I'm sure the UConn AD and Nutritionists have looked into this extensively. Ditto their S & C departments. Every bit of info gained will help others. Most likely just the body structure of these particular kids.At this point I think it’s just too much wear and tear. She is very slight though. None of the UConn players are very strong outside of Strong. Bunch of string beans.
Your diet affects so much though, you truly are what you eat. I can remember players of the years having trouble with their diet and it’s really hard to stay healthy if you aren’t supplying your body with the proper nutrients.
Sasha Goforth and Shea Ralph are two prime examples. Both with disordered eating and careers riddled with injury.
I sure hope it is minor. But you could see how much it's in her head and Geno's. His remarks post game almost seemed resigned to eventually losing her. And it's certainly uppermost on Azzi's mind - she pulled up immediately and got the same uh oh look on her face my lil grandson gets right before he has a bathroom accident while playing outside. She def felt something. Limped gingerly thru a couple of more plays until Paige, who knows this all too well, called t.o. And Azzi went straight to the lockerroom. After reading about it -- I didn't see most of their blowout victory -- I have a more positive gut feeling about Fudd's injury. I truly hope she'll be good to go next time they play.

Totally agree about the wear and tear. By the time they even get to college they've played hundreds of games and thousands of practices and work outs. It's one thing that worries me about our players. They're getting wear and tear on steroids. Will be interesting to see if heaven forbid we start to pay a price for those extra miles.
Fudd is extremely muscular, you can tell she lifts alot of weight. I think just the repeat knee damage is taking its toll.At this point I think it’s just too much wear and tear. She is very slight though. None of the UConn players are very strong outside of Strong. Bunch of string beans.

Not much going on until later today. UCLA at Washington could be a fairly good game. They only lost to LSU by one point. SC vs TCU game of the day could be fairly close game.
It is an exact quote except you left out the first sentence.Based on Geno’s post game comments I think Fudd is done. Really sad for her, her body just isn’t made for it.
